@ToaandRoss that is something to consider and I will definitely throw that out there to the vet tomorrow when I speak to her. I'm really just curious where we go from here. Thanks for thinking of that.

@bluejay1919 , ((((squeeeze hugs))) amd healing vibes for Luna
Hope you are able to talk with vet today

Is it possible for the vet to show you the feeding set up ? to being her home amd administer in the comfort of her home?
If she has to stay at vet a little longer I would add a blankie with your scent on it ?

Sending lair full of prayers for Luna
You are a fighter Luna! We are all pulling for tea, Luna -come on girl!

Still haven't heard from the vet, Grrr so my hubby is calling them now.

We were told we would more than likely be bringing her home with the feeding tube, and I'm prepared to care for her that way. However, I think the hold up is, is that she still is showing no signs of interest in feeding herself and it's been so long now at this point.

I absolutely love the idea if taking her a blanket, if they won't let us bring her home. Of course, one of our worries, and I hope this isn't taken in the wrong way... But financially, we a bit concerned too. We live on one income and my husband is in education if that gives you any idea- so the fact she has been there 2 weeks is a little worrisome, money wise. But we will figure that out... Just want what is best for our furry lady, Luna.

@bluejay1919 I was so sure that Luna would have been home by now. I was thinking so positively. Especially after how she perked up after seeing you all last week. :(

I know you have a full plate with lots of things going on, but is there anyway that you can visit her nearly every day? I don't know how far away the vet's office is, so forgive me if it's not possible. I'm just thinking that her spirits are very down.

Quick update. Vet called this evening. So her levels are lower which is good but not her enzymes. The vet said she has been doing research the last several nights and found out that sometimes these enzymes are slower to get better but it can be done. Her poop is normal, which is good. Unfortunately, she is still not interested in eating on her own. We're looking at the feeding tube being kept in there at least for 3 weeks. It's up to us, if we want her to stay there, since she is on scheduled feeding times, 5 times a day. Or she can come home, but she will have to be in a room, since she likes to hide during the day.

I stay home with my child and my elderly mother, so I plan on going Friday to learn how to work the feeding tube. After three weeks, if she is not eating on her own, we will discuss where to go from there....which will not be a nice discussion. I hope it doesn't have to go there.

@bluejay1919 I pray that Luna makes a remarkable turn around once she's home with her family. Even if she has to be secluded in one room, at least she will see and hear her family all day long.

Sending prays and hugs.

@bluejay1919 , Awh (((hugs)))
i would also ask the if for Luna's case if a regimen of vitamin B12 shots to increase appetite?
(I bought the bottle and syringes from the vet and was shown how to easily administer at home for my mom's cat
- amd it did help ) weekly - it saved th stress of the weekly rode to the vet for the shot -

I would perhaps ask too if Luna would benefit from subQ fluid administered at home -
I did this too for my moms cat saving that weekly trip to the vet -
I bought a bag of fluid from the vet and they showed me how to easily administer
my moms cat stressed from vet trips so administering In the comfort of home helped.

(My vet was kind enough to let us put the bill all on my carecredit card with an 18 month promo period -
I never heard of it till I saw the brochure at the vets office and now at my dentist too )

(Carecreditv not for everyone bcz of outrageous interest if it is not micromanaged and paid in full buy promo time and follow the rules to the letter - I use it for all vet stuff amd even at my dentist - they do approval over the phone within a few minutes - it helped me a lot when I lost my job amd had a unexpected vet bills)
You get promos the individual vets offices decide how long the promo .. 6 mos plus for charges over $200.
Example- one bill was $189 at checkout , so I bought a Hylyt shampoo to make it over $200 amd got a 6 mos promo-
Another time I added a case of food - just a way to juggle it savy when we get these emergencies )

We all go thru the financial worries with our babies care - we all understand and many of us have walked that mile and truly get it . (((Hugs))) Beleive me .. I get it

Sending lots of prayers and positive vibes for healing -
Luna's numbers lower is a good sign as well solid poos another good sign -
Positives are great! A little a time , we will take it .. We are all praying for team Luna!
I know she is soooo Loved.

Luna being home in her home surroundings with all your families love amd care may be just the pick me up for her eating.

Please give her head smooches from me
Amd keep us updated often

@Yoda mom thanks for the advice on things I can talk to the vet about tomorrow. We're going tomorrow evening to bring her home, hopefully. It's the soonest I can get to her.

Ah yes, Care credit; we use it for the vet, and the eye doctor it's come in handy for us many times, unfortunately that darn interest does get ya. We have a bit left on it and plan on using it, and asking for a payment plan if it's super expensive. The vet told my hubby yesterday she will make sure they work with us.... Whatever that means!

I'm ready for some of Luna's persistent head bumps and biscuit making!

Time to update. I apologize for being absent...it has been a busy. We've had Luna home with us for 9 days now. A full week was with the feeding tube and the main reason I haven't sat down and taken the time to update everyone. While the actual act of feeding her through the tube takes no time, the process of preparing the food took longer. I was feeding her 5 small meals of watered down pate (a special prescription soft food) of 35ml. Then flushing before and after with warm water of 20ml. One crushed up pill in the morning in her food and another pill crushed and dissolved in water through the tube in the evenings. I know it may not sound like much... But I'm exhausted!

So Saturday, after a week, we wake up to find Luna has almost removed most of her bandage around her neck. Her tube is wrapped around her neck as well. Then we find about and inch of the tube ( that is not the exposed part of the feeding tube) laying on the floor. So we take her in to the vet, which we needed to anyways for more blood work. She had hacked up the feeding tube and bit part of it off... The rest was hanging out of her throat.

Luckily for Luna, she has been eating a little dry cat food everyday and enjoying kitty treats so the vet felt it was, obviously, best to remove the tube and leave it out. So we're back at home. She is eating a little and drinking water a little. Loving the kitty treats. Her neck is left unbandaged so it can heal properly and she was given an antibiotic for it. She hasn't gained much weight in the past week but she does feel like she is less bony. Her jaundice is slowly clearing up. I'm still giving her the two pills everyday until they run out. They help with all those levels that were so high. Her blood work is much better. While the one that was the worst when we brought her home was still in the 1200 range...which is crazy high, it is now around 330, which is great.

I'll post a few pictures soon... She looks pretty rough with all her mats and shaved patches. But she is chirping and rubbing her head all over our legs. I laid my pj pants down that I had been wearing, haha- she makes biscuits on them and sleeps on them. I think she missed us.

Thank you for those healing vibes! They are working! I just read about your Babas and I wanted to leave a reply and didn't see the option to...i hope everything is going well with him. Like many had said, you are a fantastic cat mommy, and you'll take the best care of Babas.

What a relief to hear Luna is at home and eating a little! I know it's hard working for you, not only the things you have to do with food and meda but also the stress about Luna. That's exhausting indeed.
Sending more healing vibes to Luna and a big hug to you.

Come on Luna, you can do this!

So glad to hear that Luna is starting to do well, and no longer has the feeding tube.
Sending many more healing vibes and I hope as each day goes on she eating and drinks more, and starts to gain some weight.
Sending hugs!
