Sad news here. Our hearts are broken and tears are being shed... I've cried so much the last two nights.

Our sweet little girl, Raisin, has gone missing. She disappeared Wednesday morning, early. I let her out, which is very normal, for her potty break and her morning bird watch. Then she was gone.

Raisin goes out into our backyard everyday, every morning. Always letting me know at the door when she is ready to come in or I just get her in myself, with no resistance from her.

That particular morning, here in Texas it wasn't cold or chilly, so Raisin did not have on a sweater. I took her collar with the id tag, off just the other day to wash it. Night times are hitting low 40's. She has no sweater, no id tag... I'm devastated.

There's so many possibilities at play here... Someone could have stole her, yet we live out in the country where we don't get much traffic other than our few neighbors...who all know and love Raisin. We have gone door to door with no luck. We also have woods all around. The possibility she got out of the privacy fence and wandered into the wood is high. And with that there are snakes, and other wildlife (deer, coyotes, etc). Raisin is petite, little like a kitten. It wouldn't take much from a copper head bite to kill her, if she was bitten. And we would never find her in the woods.

I ask, before any mean judgements come this way... Please, please keep them to ones self. I already feel so guilty, obviously for so many things I should have done differently. Keep in mind, Raisin loves being outside, in our fenced in yard. She spent her life before us, cooped up with just one window to peer out of. She has become healthier and happy through the stimulating nature she can be part of. We love our kitties so much, our hearts hurt. I never would put my kids in danger, and I never thought letting Raisin go out was going to result in this.

I've cried so much my eyes are swollen. My two children spent the evening in tears after we talked to them about how Raisin may not return. I can't stop thinking about her being out in the cold nights or suffering through an animal attack.

Phoebe is heartbreaking in her actions. Pacing throughout our home, looking out the door windows and checking Raisin's bed and blanket, to find it empty. She has lost her companion.

I'm hoping for the best, of course. Maybe her wandering spirit wandered too far and she will return. But my heart is telling me to face the facts.

Please, please send some guiding light for Raisin if she is out there ;alive & just lost. Also warm energy to keep her warm during these chilly nights. We love her so much.... Raisin, please come home- there is an emptiness here without you around.

I'm exhausted from the tears and swollen eyes. First Barneby, the kitten, the the drama with Luna, now this. Thanks you to all who have those kind words that is always passed around on this forum. Thanks for listening.

Oh no! @bluejay1919 so sorry to hear Raisin is missing! That's the worst nightmare possible. I do hope you'll find here healthy and alife. And if Raisin isn't alife anymore I still hope you'll find here so you can have some peace with knowing what happened. Must be heartbreaking.

And don't be afraid of mean judgements. Nobody has the right to judge. You did gave Raisin what she loved and that's playing outside. You did everything to protect her from going outside the garden. So don't blame yourself.

A big big hug for you. And all fingers and paws crossed Raisin will find her way home. A warm guiding light...Raisin, if you're still there, come home.

I hope against hope she if found and returned. I'm sure you've put posters up and knocked on doors. When she is returned I hope lessons are learned sphynx are not outdoor animals just like we'd be if left out naked. Please when she is back only let her out in the yard on a harness under supervision. I'm not judging you you will hopefully do that to yourself so that lessons are learned there's a reason sphynx are indoor animals. Please let us know if you find her. Try stay positive and maybe gather friends and go on a search of neighbourhood. Put food in porch for her etc

One of my families had their boy escape from their house one night in the winter up here in the Pacific Northwest. Long story short, they found him the next day under the neighbor's hot tub (AND found him there after they had already looked there previously and missed seeing him the first time!)
Positive thoughts sent that you find Raisin!!

Just my two cents...

I do sincerely wish you grace and luck in finding your precious girl. There is always a balance in life between risk and reward. While you may never let another Sphynx out in the future after having this experience, I can't be in your shoes to know if the outdoor adventures were the best choice. Sometimes they are. Sometimes animals a just miserable spending their entire lives indoors. That discussion and decision is really between you and the cat. So don't guilt yourself too much. If your objective was to make her happy and the outdoors accomplished this, I can't very well say you did anything wrong. Praying for you and your babies.

I hope Raisin finds her way home, sending so many positive vibes your way! Perhaps a cat trap, and leave food outdoors to entice her? I hope she's just close by!

Just an update... No sweet little Raisin yet. It's been since Wednesday, but we're trying to be optimistic. Printing photos off tomorrow and putting them in 16 mailboxes of a neighborhood down the road, past the woods. I just got done crying into my hubby's arms...im such a baby about this stuff.

@bluejay1919 , continued come home Raisin vibes!
I would definitely get a trap - those kind that are sold at lowes and other home improvement centers

*You can also call animal control and ask if they have a loaner trap to borrow

Call all the animal shelters amd drop off flyers to them too
Go and do a physical walk thru at shelters - they get super busy amd could miss looking
I would put out a bed /Blanket with your scent on a towel by your front door too

(((Squeeze)))) amd positive vibes !
We have seen kitties reunited using the trap

***** can you post a separate Missimg /Lost thread with Raisins pics and flyer so we can spread the word!
Members may not see it in Luna's thread

Kisses to Luna

**I would call all vets offices in at least a 25 mile radius to tell them about lost Raisin and leave your phone number
Some people will call their vets office first to say they found a kitty instead of shelters

****If she has a microchip - please call the chip company ( avid, Homeagain etc) directly and make sure they have a curremt address amd phone number on file

Just another update. Oi, things are not going well here with our kitties. I've updated on our sweet Raisin in the other thread that was made for her by another kind lairian. Sadly we have not found her.

This update is back to Luna, which I made this thread for initially.

Luna was doing good for a while. Unfortunately, Grrr... I wish I had some good news, but unfortunately, Luna is becoming ill again. While she does eat and drink plenty of water, she is losing weight. She has not just put on alot of weight since her return from her vet stay, where she was at 5lbs and left around 6lbs. But her bones were less noticeable and feeling her, I could tell she was putting on a bit of meat.

Now, her hip bones, spine and ribs are starting to show. I'm confused because she is eating and drinking and urinating normal.. However she has had loose stools for a few weeks now. Not diarrhea, just mush poo. More concerning is obviously she is losing weight, again. Weight she can't afford to lose.

I know I need to take her to the vet, and I will as soon as I can. But we surely can't afford another vet bill like the last time.

As for her actions, Luna is still being super friendly and loveable. I'm just very concerned about the sudden weight loss, again.

@bluejay1919 , thank you for sharing beautiful Luna pics
She is gorgeous - positive head smooches sent

(Years ago my vet was at a loss for a diagnosis for my Bengal who lost a lot of weight etc - Down to 6 lbs from near 12.
I was in the middle of prepping to move 3600 miles. I packed up my kitty , took along a cooler with liquid antibiotics and a script of prednisone - he bounced back and we never knew to this day what it was - he doubled his weight after the crap shoot of antibiotics and prednisone - (after $1200 in vet bills / tests with no clear diagnosis /answers except his levels were off the chart )

I am sending lots of love and positve vibes for a recovery like my Omar da cat -
I did give him nutrical supplement he would lick off my finger - perhaps may be helpful for Luna too-
Were you able to chat with her vet again with an update / treatment plan tweek?
One of my vets will chat over the phone or text -
The other was " you have to bring him in

Please know you have a lair full of family and pawsitive vibes for Luna
And for the return home of Raisin
(((( hugs))))) to you and your family
