SO oddly My husband and I have mentioned since we got Nefarious in Feb that maybe we would be wanting another soon while she's still young. Nefarious is very needy and likes my attention 24/7 of course I tryyy to give it, but i feel so bad like she needs a sister and a lil cuddly buddy and friend to play with.
I have read so much about this breed being soooo good w/ a sister/brother..
well STRANGELY today I opened my email to a letter from Nefarious' breeder (we keep in touch and she sends me pix of her new kittens and I sent her updated pix of Nefarious)
well I opened my mail w/ a pix added too it thinking it was a picture of the kittens...
BUT IT WASNT..
It was a picture of a lil girl who looked JUST LIKE NEFARIOUS..I about died
I guess Nefarious' sister she grew up w/ for many months before she was sold was sent off w/ her new loving family and sold right before we bought our baby...well The couple tried to have her and I guess unfortunatly the woman became so so allergic, very very sick and could barely breathe...
well The breeder wrote me w/ a photo saying she needed a good home and to contact the woman if anyone or myself was interested....
i hopped right on it....I contacted her....we talked forever...and she said she really really wanted to have her go to a good and loving home and better yet ....with her real sister...
Me and My husband did some talking and budgeting.. and well
she is coming home w/ us wednesday
i have been crying for hours...
please anyone who has 2 sphynx let me know how it worked out....what to expect, any info would be soooo helpful, I know Nefarious was sooo scared coming her for the first few days so I expect new baby to be the same....

AND...
her name is...AMARA....
I promised to keep her name...and i LOVE IT...heres a photo, she is exactllly like Nefarious but blacker! I posted a pic of them together, Nefarious is in her ozzy osbourne tee

Woo hoo! That's awesome!! It's so cool because she will not go to just "any new home". It's a new home where her sister awaits. How comforting! I really like her name as well. Keep us posted!

They won't remember each other....out of sight out of mind for cats. When Habibi and Fishbones had been apart for a couple of weeks they didn't know each other at all.....so don't be disappointed when they don't know each other...they will get reacquainted and all should be well. She's a real beauty! Congrats on getting her.

Oh that is great to hear!!!!! How very cool that it is her sister too!!!!!

I am no sphynx expert but I do know cats make sure you keep them separate for the first week. Let them sniff eachother through the door and give them supervised visitations to begin with. You will know when It's safe to leave them together:ThumbsUp:

I will be getting mine together I might have to ask you what It's like having 2 sphynx come June hehe.....

and oh my I have to separate them?! wah.

You should, but I just got my kitten and had him and Hoss separated for like 2 day's...LOL..The baby was crying and Hoss wanted to see him and I'm weak:Dizzy::Cool:... So there you are...

But everyone says it's best to keep them apart for the first week...

how exactly did you separate them? Nefarious has her own room, that is safe...w/ her litter and food...Now I am so worried....

we have a 4 bedroom house and that is the only room( empty enough w not wayy to much too get into) for the kittens to eat/litter
etc

Diesel and Luna are brother and sister. They were apart for almost one year. When Luna came to live with us, they acted like they had never been apart. You will love having two. I DO !

can you tell me more how you got them together..I pick her up wednesday and now im freaking lol.
Nefarious and her new soon to be sister Amara are both 7 months old , the same litter so the same age, prob the same weight and well, they look the same..

me and the current owner of Amara both bought our babies I think in February-ish(thats atleast when I got Nefarious) so they have not been apart too long..... maybe 3 if she bought her in jan..I didn't know exact date...

I locked the baby in my daughters room. He hated it! he cried and cried, I couldn't do it to him. I figure if he was sick (thats why you keep them apart) Hoss would get it anyways. I went in and held the kitten and then walked out and held Hoss in the same close and everything. So I'm not sure unless your going to shower and change (LOL) every time, 20x's a day:Dizzy: what good it would do?

Now that's just my .02

Most breeders want you to keep them apart for a week!!!

Amara is such a beauty, congrats !
Separation is also a way of protecting Nefarious from catching a disease she might have, like URI, which is a common thing in Sphynxes changing homes.

Congrats on your new addition! I know it sucks to separate them but you want to be sure the new kitty is not sick for a few days, be sure to make a vet visit in the first 48 hours or sooner.

Separating will also give the new kitty time to adjust to surroundings and smells and make it a little less stressful. A new home is stressful enough never mind a new playmate! Don't be surprised if there is some swatting, growling and hissing in the beginning.

This is generally normal when a new cat enters the home, it could take up to a week for them to become friends so be patient! Please search our forum for "new home" or "introductions," we have a few members here who have already been through this. Congrats and keep us posted, you should do just fine!

 congrats. they are both beatiful and look like twins how will you tell them appart lol
hope all goes well when you bring Amara home. the sepperation is just so that the new edition can be monitoired for illmess and also is great help for her settling in. sometimes works wonders but others hate being confined in one place. maybe just see i you could do it for 2 days we found it hard with our sphynx. we have two dogs and when i had the sphynx home i had to keep them appart as i did not know how they would react towards the cats. it only lasted over the first night it was impossible keeping them apprt but the cats shoed them who was bossand the dogs were fine. lol
good luck i'm sure everything will be great xxxxxxxxxxx

A bathroom will do.... it is mainly to make sure they don't get eachother sick but also to keep them safe. They may hiss, and scratch eachother... cat fight. Most cats are really territorial... over time they will be fine. Out of the five cats I had only 2 never got along. You will know when they r comfortable with eachother. No worries.... also it is recommended to have 1 littler box per cat....they dont really like to mess in the same one and it gets dirtier quicker. It is easier with 2. Hope this helps :)

Congrats!!! How wonderful! That is actually how I got one of my French Bulldogs - we bought one, & a couple months later, our breeder called to say that his littermate had been returned to her (unfortunately the owner was diagnosed with cancer), & did we want to buy him - are you kidding? We were thrilled. Have fun with your babies!!
