Hi,

I’ve been a sphynx mom for a long time now but I’m slightly baffled on skin allergy reaction. I have a boy Oliver, a girl Hermoine both 3 years old brother and sister. I am up to date on all health history prior and current for the mom and dad cat and am very close to the original breeder. We talk everyday so if she or I have concerns it’s very openly communicated.
Hermoine has only had a allergy reaction once and it cleared w a small bit of Benadryl and food change. It’s gotten nice out where I live so windows have been open letting in fresh air and sun but I noticed a skin reaction with Oliver. His skin is dry and a bit flaky with red bumps almost like chicken pox I bathed him today dried him off really good. I tried to sneak in some liquid Benadryl but he’s not. Fan.
We haven’t had any changes besides my dog having to be put on a new food because he got allergies to his original food. This is the only thing that I can think of unless he’s reacting to his own food but they both eat the same thing. I also have a boy Lykoi and zero reaction from him as well.

Welcome to SL. How long has this been going on? And is it only under the armpits? If it is an allergy it can be so frustrating because they can occur at any point in their life and often it is food related. But have you changed laundry detergent, use dryer sheets, any new cleaning products etc?

@LDuket , welcoming you and your adorable babies Oliver, Hermoine , and your Lykoi (name? )to the lair family! all paws are family.
so glad to read the update Oliver is 100 times better today.
perhaps over sunbathing his belly ? under covers prickle heat like rash? I have seen some get heat rash from clothing.
my adoptee had severe pigmentation from over sunbathing that went away on it's own. some members use window tint.
our babies certainly keep us on our toes.

so glad you joined us! look forward to you being an active member with pics and tales of your precious trio! pups are family too! love to see pic (name ?). hugs n head smooches to all paws.

No to laundry detergent however we did just get a new carpet cleaning machine and my daughter used it on our steps. My dog started new food as well. I noticed it I wanna say Monday he lives for a nice warm sunny day I thought that maybe he got sunburn. He seems to be doing way better today right now he’s trying to put his butt in my face hah

Hi and welcome to you and your handsome feline family ! Glad to hear Oliver is doing better now with his rash. My bot Wilson is. a real sun worshipper and if he's managed to find a sun spot he can get a little sweaty around his armpits and belly and does sometimes develop a similar rash that usually clear within a couple of days
