Thank you for the welcome! This is my first Sphynx and I’m feeling a little bit like a new mom complete with anxiety. She is such a little love, energetic, talkative, affectionate.

@Olive807 , melt my heart!!! Olive is soooo adorable! so glad you joined us and shared her adorable photo. I joined here with my first and asked questions, lots of support and knowledge in group.. the one thing I first remembered with my first I "thought" she would be soo delicate..I never felt a sphynx before. Had researched and wanted a sphynx for 15 yrs until then suddenly got a surprise Yoda as a bday gift.
lol they are cat, dog, monkey, baby all in one! never hesitate to ask questions. the info center a great resource as well as the top right search box for specifics.
some things to share: kitty proof your home, even cat toys, cat trees (strings chewing choking hazard) for life. they are busy buddies
triple check washer machine and dryers even if distracted for a moment. sadly we have seen appliances turned on without knowing kitties inside.
watch opening stoves , using stove tops. they are heat seekers and will try to jump in or ontop of warm stoves. I have to put mine up in the bedroom if I cook or use the oven. I always say its my job to keep all paws safe.
watch opening and closing outside doors.. they are lighting fast underfoot. I always have to walk looking down at my feet and walkng out doors backwards keeping an eye at the bottom for any escape attempts. I trained mine to a meet and greet chair when I come in the house as an extra measure.
* plug in air fresheners and candles now often contain essential oils that are toxic to cats and dogs* there are even warnings on the packaging of plugs about enclosed spaces and pets on the back in small letters
sunscreens can clog pores or contain toxic ingredients
if you have plants inside, recommend moving out of reach and checking the toxic plants list.
just some things I learned and shared from this amazing lair family
