Up until now, I have been using a cotton round to clean Darwin's nails and skin folds on his toes. I usually scrape his nails with my fingernail and then use the cotton with ear cleaner to remove the loose gunk and clean out his fold.

The other day, there was a particularly stubborn piece of gunk under one of his folds so I grabbed a q-tip and ran it under the fold from one edge to the other (much like we would use the pointy end of a nail file to clean under our nails). Oh ny gosh, eureka! This was such a fast way of doing it AND I felt like I got ever last speck of yuckiness out of there. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I am definitely using this method from now on.

I just wanted to share in case this can make grooming easier or more effective for someone else. I don't know that it will work as well in every Sphynx, but I certainly wish I had thought of or heard about doing it this way sooner.

Oh my gosh, why didn't I think of that. Bella gets the black gunk in there and I have such a hard time getting it out. Thanks for the tip!

I always hear that I look like someone's friend, sister, aunt or cousin

I have yet to see any of these people though and I am always SOOOOO curious.

Genius. Definitely going to try this! I always wipe them with a tissue after the bath which works fine with the big cats bit I’m always afraid I’m going to hurt little kittens nails.

I had to Google what a q tip was (we call them cotton buds.) To me a q tip is the top of a snooker or pool cue, was sitting here visualising you trying to use one of those to clean nails! :Shok:

I have to try this, Frank is a beast when it comes to cleaning his nails. I even got coconut oil and when he sits on my lap at night I sneak it on his nails

Hi, Franksmom. I see that you are from Florida and my three boys came from a breeder in Pembroke Pines area. I was wondering where you got yours from ... if it's the same breeder.
