Hi all,
I have had my beautiful baby boys 6 days now and it's been a rollercoaster all the way. My boys are almost 4 months old and the most loving little brothers to each other and me. I have been reading many of the threads and it's really informative and I hope to see my boys, Zeus and Hades gets up to tricks soon too.

My poor boys started getting sick two days after they arrived from their long journey by road and flight to get to me. Zeus started sneezing first then Hades got conjunctivitis so after three days it was time to see the vet. And just in time because they both got really sick with breathing problems and Hades eye remains swollen shut. My babies have cat flu and are on multiple anitbiotics and eye drops. I had to stay home from work because they needed a treatment every 2hrs.

But thank goodness I am starting to see an improvement and the playfullness I saw on their first day is starting to come back. My boys sleep all day and only get up to eat and toilet so hopefully when they're recovered they'll be running a muck and having fun!!

See you all soon in the Lair.

This is a great place to be to make friends & share important information. You will enjoy it a lot. By Boone has something going on with his eye since I got him last month also. May I ask what is the name of the eye drops that your vet gave you?
Thanx.

Wow thanks everyone for the welcome and comments.
Sorry for the late reply but my boy Hades had another trip to the vet today.
Someone asked about the eyedrops? The vet gave me acular and optichol.

Talk about hard work trying to get a kitten to eat and drink when he's sick! I'm going back to the vet in the morning because I'm stuggling with hydration and food which also means I can't get his antibiotics into him. And now both his beautiful eyes have conjunctivitis. It's amazing how sick a kitten cab be with the flu!

Zeus had recovered and is going crazy running a riot around the house which is nice to see.

Thanks again everyone and I hope to touch base again soon when it settles down.

Hello & welcome to the Lair! I do not know why, but every time we bring in a new cat, everyone gets runny eyes! My vet says it is common as they become accustomed to each others "bugs", & the goopy eyes will go away by themselves without any tereatment. Sure enough, the eyes clear up alone!

Seems like they all get sick one way or the other.....between the stress of a new home and the getting accustomed to each other's "bugs", adding a new cat/kitten to an existing cat home can get rough if they pass things back and forth to each other. Hope it all clears up for these new kitties soon.
