Hello!

I just got my little gremlin a couple weeks ago, so far she hasn't gotten super oily and I have just had to wipe her down with fragrance free grooming wipes and she has done fine. She does have a little chin acne. What shampoo/conditioner would be good to start with? She seems a little dry.

I'm working on switching her over from friskies food to Purina one plus sensitive skin and stomach along with tiki cat chicken and pumpkin wet food. She also LOVES churus. I have a water fountain for her, a litter robot and she has an auto feeder. Is there a better diet I should put her on that would benefit her more? What treats do you guys recommend? I also have proden plaque off powder. I wipe her ears with Q-tips and I bought otidine ear cleaner solution that I will have in the mail soon.

She's front declawed (from owners before my brother had her) and doesn't like us touching her back paws to clean the claws back there so I'm wondering if she will be okay with them not being cleaned or if there's a workaround we could do.

I guess I'm just wanting any recommendations/help. I researched as much as I could before we took her in, but it was very last minute as we got her from a family member who couldn't keep her anymore. We are putting her on pet insurance and will be going to get her a checkup as soon as it starts to check her heart health etc.

Thank you in advance!

@Raylias , so glad you joined us here. I remember your post about taking her in. you are doing great.
bless you for opening your heart and home to her.. love your avatar photo! . so cute. name? all paws are family. it will all come together and we are here for you. check out the sphynx info center, lots of great stuff there .. I will chime in with more info later. my boy adoptee hated toe nail trims and cleaning when I adopted him. I put him on my lap on a little chair in the bathroom and practiced desensitizing him without cleaning and working up from one nail at a time. just gently touching each to with calm praise and a treat.. .love , time , patience. we gotcha! members will surely chime in! hugs n head smooches,

I joined here with my first over a decade ago and never looked back

We had 3 cats who didnt like claws clipped. When we did anyone’s claws. Everyone got treats. They got them for anything they considered offensive to them. As they got older they would all go to the treat cabinet and wait for the reward. When my Foxy developed kidney disease that had to stop so my older sphynx never really got to get into the pattern. We just got another Sphynx and lost the older furries and we are training them to expect their rewards.

What a little beauty she is , so glad she found you. It sounds like you're really committed to doing the best for her. We bathe our (more senior) girl in Aveeno for sensitive skin , we don't use any coconut oil et, and thanks to advice on this great site, don't over bathe as that may increase oil production, so for Kiwi that is about every 3 weeks although they are all individuals . Think its a good idea too to gently Gai her trust in regards to touching her paws by gradually getting her used to non threatening touch, just gently laying your hand on her paw/s when she's relaxed.Wishing you both luck for the future
