My sister was going to get a kitten to replace Ty the Bengal that had to be pts.
I named named the kitten Ramses and my sister has been getting pics of the kitten every week since he was born.
His sister who is 8.5 months old from another litter has tested pos for HCM and Ramses is to high of a risk.
My sister will be getting a older Bengal from the same breeder if all his tests are ok.
She is so upset about Ramses though.
She sure has bad luck with Bengals.
The first Bengal at some kind of problem so she could not take her then Ty was sick.

Thanks Everyone,
The older Bengal is very good show quality but he is 1.4 years old and has never been shown.
We do not know how he will act in the ring.
His ped is HCM clear.

Thats good news that his pedigree is HCM clear atleast. Has she socialized him at all? Does he react well when strangers come over? It might be worth a shot to try him out atleast once.

The breeder lives in North Carolina so my sister has never met the cat.
He was just returned to to the breeder because the people are having personal problems.
I am sure the breeder has him used to people.
He takes his cats all over to socialize them.

Awww...so disappointing about Ramses, but better to part now than later.

You know, after I lost my DSH to renal failure, I was determined to get a Bengal. My DSH was a classic tabby and when I saw the classic pattern Bengal, it was such a strong reminder of her that I just had to have a kitten. I went through the entire process, screening, evaluation of the kittens and determination of pet placements, the deposit, the first vet visit. Then I got the news that the kittens had a "little skin problem" that was nothing to worry about, would be a-okay by the time I took possession. I was told by other sources that this was ringworm (confirmed by breeder when confronted) and also warned if I was told it had a "little cold" or anything to run as fast as I could. With so much uncertainty and the risk of bringing ringworm into my home, I had to decline the kitten. I was devastated...but it led me to the Egyptian Mau and I never regretted a thing!

Moral of the story...it's just like the Rolling Stones say..."you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might just get what you need!" I hope the new boy is EXACTLY what your sister needs! (and I hope we get to see pictures!)
