I have had beautiful Nora at home with me for exactly a month now, and I couldn't imagine life without her!
She came to me at 4 1/2 months old, and has settled in beautifully. No issues bringing her home, even with her spending 13 hours in a crate and enduring two flights, then to top it off, a 90 min drive up a windy road to get home. I set up her crate in the safe room (aka, my room), and within a couple of hours, she owned the house.
She reluctantly endures me cleaning her ears, clipping her nails and wiping her down. She does make her displeasure known by huffing and puffing, but then closes her eyes gracefully and lets me get on with it. We have only done one bath (due again today), and it went fairly well. I think she will get better the more we do.
She's a funny little thing, and likes her own space, so any cuddles are definitely on her terms. She does stick to me like glue, though, joining me in the dry part of my shower, coming to the toilet with me, and yelling at me when I get home from work about leaving her all. by herself!
She has recently discovered the fish on the counter, and watches the bowl like a kid watches an iPad. She also drinks out of his bowl like she's never had a drink in her life (despite the two water bowls are are always filled to the brim!). I'm trying to discourage that behaviour, but she can be a bit of a brat!
She has a big afternoon sleep, and gets the roomies when I'm ready for bed (of course!). I have started going to bed half an hour early to play with her (she uses the bed like a trampoline), then when it's lights out I ignore her. She will now go and have a drink, some biscuits and will then put herself in her own bed. She joins me half way through the night for cuddles.
I have never been a cat person, and can't believe that this little Sphynx has so perfectly captured my heart. I couldn't imagine life without her!
I have attached some photos of her below. Her cranky faces are generally when I have tried to sneak hop and take a picture of her sleeping and she's woken up! Whoops! Don't disturb a sleeping Sphynx!
