Hi,
I am picking my kitten up on the 26th of this month. (SUPER EXCITED)..

Anyway, I wanted to get a kitten food that is grain free for sensitive stomachs? However, I am having a little bit of a problem finding that food for a kitten.

Can anyone help? What do you feed your kittens? For how long do you feed them this food?

Any suggestions from people feeding kittens or just added one to your family. Your advice would be very helpful.

I feed royal canin wet and dry. I have just converted one of my kittens onto sensitive formula made by royal canin- I'm awaiting results - we are on day 2 and the stools are slightly firmer.....

Weeeeell, I know Felidae make grain free kibble, it's for both cats an kittens. Also Holistic make wet food that is grain free. I have plans to try them both, only have had my kitt for 2 weeks, so I am still feeding what breeder did. Royal canin kitten wet food and dry kibble.

In addition to my above post, I leave kibble out at all times and feed her wet food three times a day. She doesn't eat all the wet food, only like half the pouch. So I only give her half the pouch to avoid waste, put the rest in fridge. Cats are considered adults when they are past 9 months to a year. So about that time you transition if you are on kitt food.

What food(s) does the breeder feed the kittens?
I use Royal Canin Brand. Until they are around four months old, I use the BabyCat formula (both kibble and canned), then I switch to Kitten (both kibble and canned) and use that for approx. a year, but I have been mixing the kitten kibble with the one for sensitive stomachs (1/2 and 1/2).

What did you switch to?

some Grainfree can food called BFF and kibble "natures variety" grain free. And a few months later I went to "raw" and been on Raw ever since. They say, dont feed a kitten Raw , so I switched when he was about 7'ish months old ?

We are all on NV rabbit Limited ingredients now. It seems to do well with everyone. I have not had a kitten un 6 years so as far as kitten specific I do not know. But I do remember that I had to switch Merlin and Roland onto adult food at about 5 months. The kitten food was roo much for them.

At first I stuck with what the breeder was feeding them - for dippy it was royal canin kitten dry only. I now feed my two 7mo olds raw (Stella and chewy's freeze dried cause I'm lazy.. But they love it )

Remember you might want to transition a food change from what the breeder is feeding them to avoid an upset tummy.

How long? Usually kitten food packaging tells you how much and how long. For royal canin I think it said baby cat until 4mo, kitten until a year . What I noticed with the kibble is that between the different age ones the biscuit size varied. Baby cat is a nice size for a small kitten to manage
