I have to go back saturday morning if there is no change... now Molly just came and stood on me and puked all over me at 3 am. She was puke-free since wed afternoon. I don't know what this illness is - will be asking for some tests to be run tomorrow.

@MollysMom, thinking of you and hoping you get some answers and get on the feel better road soon! It is exhausting and nerve wrecking when our babies are under the weather.. Let's us know what the vet says this morning- I have used Nutri-cal paste supplement in the past- my vet carried it and later bought some online for my moms kitty.
Her cat also got a vitamin b12 shot to help with appetite-
((( hugs))) to you and the babies and the dog- ( I give my large 12 yr old dog Microlactin extra strength -the people version of dog Duralactin and waaaay cheaper-$14 vs $45--65 . it took a month to kick in but is amazing- perhaps he can ask his vet about it)

Keeping all fingers and paws crossed for good news across the board! We want that roller coaster ride to stop now!!!

Went back to the vet... we did bloodwork on both of them. It came back within an hour (love our vet!). Leo lost his mind and was like "my cat from hell" He had to be sedated by gas for a few minutes just to get the blood sample. Both are dehydrated (obviously). But nothing else was really out of the normal, which is kind of good news (thought it might be pancreatitis).

So it is either:

-just a nasty bug type thing (gastroenteritis)

-IBD (inflammatory bowel disease).

So we are treating for dehydration with plain pedialyte (syringe feed 50-100mL per cat today). He wanted to give subcutaneous fluids, but I can't see either of them going anywhere near a needle again today. So he said orally is just as good as giving subcutaneous.

If it is IBD... we would have to diagnose with ultrasound ($400 per cat) and treat with predisone (steroids) long term, as well as change their diet. So we will give it a couple more days on the antibiotics and gastro canned food from the vet.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes here... it has been a total nightmare going through this!

Hope things continue to get better. My lil guy just went through a nasty bout of dehydration. it is so stressful but the eating on his own is a good sign. Good luck and I will be praying for their continuing health.
