We've now had Nessa for 5 months and 6 days, she's 7 mo and 17 days old. She is a bug hunter, anytime she gets picked up she thinks you're helping her search for flying bugs and starts scanning all the parts of the walls she can't reach alone. I broke out the bubble machine one day because she was bored with all the kids being back to school, it was very entertaining. Nessa has gotten quite used to it now with just us being home during the day and she often finds me to cuddle. She currently is mad at me for putting on nail caps, cleaning her ears, brushing her teeth and bathing her yesterday. We just use the caps for now to try and save our stair carpet till we can figure out a scratcher she will actually use. But she did spend a lot of time in her cage when it was open hiding from me post bath. She is completely brown again on her stomach this morning. Any tips on getting your sphynx to enjoy baths? Devlinn hated them as well. Or keeping them relatively clean? It's been a long time since I bathed her probably like a month or longer. We are still struggling with her hating being held. Any tips on that as well? She likes to come be pet and hang out but the minute she thinks your going to hold her she's off. Nessa has been adventurous and climbing on my counters and doesn't get off unless you walk in the room and tell her to get down. I do like that she has learned that but would like her to stay off of them for safety. Nessa is a stuffed animal thief, if it's the right size she claims it. She actually found one I had won tucked away and dug for it and stole it off my entertainment space in my room under my clothes. She will throw it up in the air and tackle it, she also likes to take it to the top of the stairs and throw it and chase it down them. We got her a window perch that she loves and a few more toys. We have enough toys for probably 4 cats now.

Her eyes are so gorgeous. She's not a super huge fan of her clothes to be fair the hoodie is for a dog and the arms are weird. I need to buy her some more sphynx clothes off amazon. There's a photo of her letting me hold her on the couch cuddling. She use to nurse on our arms and actually suckle but now its more like licking and she doesn't have to do it as often now and will lay with me and snuggle.

Here's my husband who hates cats, petting her. He really wants a dog. Nessa and I enjoy our naps together sometimes in the quiet house, she's getting scratches and she's enjoying it.

@MommyNaNell , awh, thanks for the adorable photos of sweet Nessa and update! My girl is 14 1/2 and does not like to be picked up.. she is miss prissy priss lol however very very snuggly on my chest and always sleeps in my arms. Mine go nakid lol except for photo ops.
my Claire Bare and Batman not fan of full spa day baths. they are both seniors 14 1/2 and 15 . I go with less stress and do weekly wipe downs with Trizulta w/keto. It is dual purpose as a skin flush and ear cleaner. I wet swissper rectangular pads and do body wipe downs.. everywhere except faces. Trizultra really gets the brown off bellies, arm pits, chins, legs . I use it on small swissper exfoliating pads to wipe and clean around nail beds.

My vet got me hooked on Trizultra nearly 20 yrs ago. it is pricey but I always find discounts on chewy etc. and get the 12 oz bottle. no skin issues using it with my crew. it really is near scent free and they don't mind ear wipe outs with. I wet the cotton rounds and qtips .

Nessa is absolutely beautiful.. lol love the pics with your husband with Nessa. my ex not a cat person but gave me Yoda my first sphynx as a surprise bday present. He ended up saying sphynx are cool cats. I swear, cat , dog , monkey, baby all in one for life.

she struck gold in your hearts and home. hugs n head smooches. keep us updated often with more adorable pics. melt my heart.

Nessa update:
Nessa still very much hates bath and nail trims. I don't do baths very often like maybe 1x a month, which could be why she isn't used to it. I have tried sink and tub with toys, and the shower. I even used a container in the shower which she didn't like either, but with the shower she cant hop out and run around, because its glass, I get in with her. I learned the hard way that nails need to be trimmed prior to bathing. She also is very very sassy after bath time.
She still refuses to eat anything but her Authority dry food and treats from whole hearted, salmon flavored Dental treats and soft nibbles and the crunchy tuna soft bites. I have tried to buy her fancy treats and she refuses. Chicken and venison jerky, chicken crunchy stuff made with better ingredients, broth, churu tubes, minced, pate, tube of fresh food, tried giving her a taste of eggs, and raw meat, all no's for her. Still will practically try to jump in any salad bowl, attempt to steal chips on the way to your mouth, lick chick-fil-a sauce off a plate. Nessa loves butter she jumps on the counter and licks the container and the butter if able. Drinks especially water must have a lid on them or be fully attended to because she doesn't mid sticking her face in and sharing.
We decided to borrow Diesel to see how she would do with another animal, she often hisses at other pets when walking around pet stores in her stroller. Which I find kind of odd since she grew up with several cats and dogs. Diesel lives with our friends on land and since he's been around our late sphynx Devlinn and incredibly well trained we knew he would be perfect to see how she'd do. We picked him up January 1st and still have him, not much progress has been made. He cant go upstairs its hard on his body so she has that whole area. Diesel is very good at respecting Nessa's boundaries. She did hiss at him a few times and booped him in the very beginning. Now she walks up to him to sniff him but runs away if he moves. She sits above him on the couch to soak in the sun. He makes sure to avoid eye contact with her when he walks up to anyone near her. He was very sad when he first got here and realized it wasn't our late Devlinn, there was some whining. Unfortunately his family misses him very much and wants him back so I don't think he will be here much longer.
We did venture out yesterday to the pet store with both pets and she did not like that, its been awhile since she was out and she hid in her carrier and buried her face. I need to make trips out more frequent. Nessa is now 11 months old and I want to make sure I am still trying to make sure she experiences a lot of different things because I would like to literally take her everywhere and her be more social. She doesn't respond to her name still unless your shaking a treat bag and she feels like it. She also still is coming to cuddle whenever she decides she wants to. Nessa is very kiddish with noises. I wonder sometimes if she wasn't handled much before we got her or if we gave her too much space when we first got her, or if this is just who she is. I don't really feel like she has typical sphynx cuddly/ needy traits. I wonder if its her age sometimes too. Not sure, but we still love her to pieces. I really enjoy the times she comes up to me for cuddles, she throws her body into the crook of my arm like a baby I just wish it was more frequent. Will upload a few new pictures.

@MommyNaNell , thank for the Nessa update and adorable photos! Diesel is such a good handsome boy. sharing my Batman does not eat any treats except temptations. He refused churus, freezedried etc. at 15 + probably not going to change him lol.

Mine HAATE spa day. I used to wear a winter coat from protection from nails. I do have the Flexibath that folds up recommended by a member over a decaade ago. It is short, small , collapsable for storage and has a little drain plug. you can put on counter with drain plug out over into the sink with towels under it and inside of it. they still tried climbing up on me. but... when they stood on the edge and I gently held shoulders while wearing exfoliating gloves it worked out that I could wash belliies armpits, chest bumms n tail. Now that they are seniors and I don't want to stress their little hearts out, I use trizultra w/keto ( my vet got me hooked on almost 20 yrs ago for ear wiping out pups n kitties) and wet swissper rectangle pads for wipe downs everywhere **except on face). It is dual purpose as a skin flush so that is their weekly "spa day and nail trims). I use it to wip around nail beds too.
Mine would get too stressed going out so they stay home ;)

when does Diesel go back home? he is a true ambassador to the breed and soo cute! bet they miss him.

my girl is snuggly... lol.. on her terms.. love how Nessa cuddles in the crook of your arm like a baby. perhaps a little treat and she will do it more often or warm blanket from the dryer on your lap.
some kitties respond to names with an "ee" ending sound from what a read. do you call her full name Nessa Faye? she may respond to more readily?

love love all the adorable pics and her silly antics thief, salad brat.. she is a hoot. hugs n head smooches. keep us updated!

My two aren’t the biggest fans of bathing either. Neither was my first Sphynx Agnes. Nail trims aren’t that bad here.

The salad picture reminded me of my Agnes. She would try to steal off the plate too. But I think Otis would too given the chance, he is such a glutton for any food. He once got my nose trying to take a bite of a breakfast burrito. Trust me that was not fun but definitely funny afterwards. Dolly loves potato chips.

Nessa isnt terribly bad in the shower and the best part is she cant escape. I tried a container in the shower and she refused to stay in it, I think it would be warmer but she doesn't care. I need to get better at trimming her nails more often. Regardless of what we do anytime we clean her she has massive attitude, throws mega shade, and avoids me at all costs for a few hours.

Diesel is for sure a true ambassador for the breed. He is such a well behaved dog and exceptionally trained. A lot of people are freaked out by him when they see him because they think huge pit, but he's an American Bulldog. Not that I have anything against pit bulls, they are one of my favorite breeds. They did miss him so much they came to pick my daughter for a sleepover and he seemed sad that he didn't get to go home, so we took him back the next day when we picked her up. I guess he's a little sad, their son told me. We did get him to loose a little weight while he was with us, and we were feeding him super good dog food. He was sad we didn't let him eat table scraps like his other family does but he did get raw meat when we cooked. Nessa hasn't fully grasped that he's not going to be here anymore and has been hanging out upstairs a lot still. She also has been in her cage during the day till the kids get home although because I've been working on site instead of from home.

She doesn't mind going out most of the time, but it had been a long while. I need to start taking her out when I go run errands again. I honestly don't leave the house much although, Im a home body.

I absolutely love when cuddles, one day she had death grip on my arm and didn't want me to move. Typically she comes and cuddles and wants to lick my arm but because it's been cold she hasn't been able to but will cuddle anyway which is nice. My oldest has a heated blanket and she knows about it, there was a time when she would literally break into her room and lay on it or wait for her to open her door and go straight to it. I may buy one for the living room.

Oh that makes sense, she does respond to Faye Faye, well she will make eye contact and then go about her business. She is definitely a hoot!

When it snowed we got a Tupperware container and tried to show her it and she is not a fan lol.
