So I was reading on here just now that you should not feed raw with dry kibble. Is this true?? I am getting my baby next week and I am trying to transition mine to raw, I have natures variety and BITR made. They have not been too happy with any raw or wet food the last few weeks. I do have taste of the wild dry down all the time. I at one point had them off kibble but then I was reading that I had to have food available for the kitten all the time because they eat more. SO at this point what do I do? Do I take away the dry and have them just eat the raw and get use to it and then feed the baby 3-4 times daily?? Can I just take away their dry??I think they are filling up on the dry so they are not hungry for the raw food. PLEASE HELP I feel like I am going nuts with the food.

Kittens don't need food available all the time. They just need more frequent feedings because they need a lot of energy to grow but have tiny stomachs. I feed my kitten four times a day and he doesn't beg for food between feedings.
I switched him to wet food as soon as I brought him home but let him still have access to the kibble he was used to. He liked the wet food so much he mostly ignored the kibble. I started him on a raw diet a week later and removed the kibble completely. He loved the raw food immediately and did not miss the kibble.

I am a stay at home mommie so I have the ability to feed 3-4 times a day we do morning when kids eat... Lunch when the kids have lunch.. Dinner 5ish and I give her a snack before bedtime. Seems to work great! We do better in the raw and I swear it's not only BETTER FOR BABY... But it is CHEAPER! SAMs club has great prices on turkey meat, if u are feeling ambitious u can buy chicken thighs and take it off the bone and pulse it in a ninja or a vitamix and u have instant mush to add to better in the raw suppliment. And it is super fast to prepare and u just freeze it !! It's a thousand times better than kibble!

I dont have time to feed 3-4 times a day, so I leave Kibble out 100% of the time. I want a cat that can self-regulate their eating. If she cant, then I would monitor it, but she's doing great with it always down.
I believe if its a grain-free kibble, it is ok with the raw wet food. I've NEVER had any issues doing this. Her poop is always firm and havent had any poo-foot since the first week bringing her home (when I was transitioning her off her old food). Nor have I seen any issues with it being too hard.
If the 2 existing cats are used to having a dry/kibble out all the time, just leave it out. Might make it easier on all parties.
