Organic vs. Raw?

So. I've been feeding my five month old, Matilda an organic dry/wet food mixture called "Simply Nourish". No sugars, grains (It doesn't have corn, soy, or wheat) or artificial colors and it's high protein. She totally loves the stuff, but god does her poop stink. I've been thinking about going raw, and wanted some advice on the subject. I want to keep her as healthy as possible, while maybe fixing the issue of deathly smelly poop.

Does anyone else suffer from the case of really smelly poop, and is so, have any tips on how to manage it via your cats diet?

mine were on Taste of the Wild Dry and Wet and they were not all firm and my older one was very soft poo and ALL of them stank so bad. I picked the sphynx baby up and he farted each time i picked him up , we had a going Joke around our House that said "dont pick up the baby and if you do , dont SQUEEZE HIM !!" LOL
we switched to Raw and no poooey smell anymore and no farts either. All firm now too on all cats.

You can do raw that still has high quality ingredients... I am using the Better in the Raw premix powder to make mine right now, and befire I was using the TC Feline brand. Both contain all human-grade ingredients. I make my raw with all wild meat that I get leftover from my family, there are lots of good choices to order/ purchase for ready to serve raw options too.

One definite thing - it makes their poops firm and waaaaaay less smelly. Smaller in volume too and less frequent, since there is no fillers in it.

I had mine on Blue Buffalo Wilderness and the smell was horrific! Gas was definitely the biggest issue. Switching to raw will clear all that up. Like MollysMom said it's the fillers. All dry food have it to a certain extent even the most expensive brands. Cats evolved to eat meat and our domestic cats are closer to their wild ancestors than dogs are to theirs. It makes sense that a raw diet will cause the least amount of GI issues. You can find plenty of choices for raw. There are powders that are organic and you can add to organic ground meat you purchases yourself. There are also a couple of pre made raw brands that offer the organic option, I believe natures variety has an organic raw bites. Best of luck making the switch!

You can also look into Honest Kitchen. It's a dehydrated raw. It's basically a powder that you add warm water to. It makes a porridge or cream of wheat like mix. You adjust the amount of water you add to make it runnier or firmer depending on how your naked prefers it. I keep some on hand as a back up in case the power goes out and I loose the raw in the fridge/freezer. It's great if you plan on traveling with them or going camping ect. Never hurts to have a little variety either!

It's definitely not and either/or situation. Both Primal and RadCat premade raw are organic. Nature's Variety also has an organic chicken option.

Thank you all for the advice! I will be looking to switching her to a raw diet ASAP. She really doesn't mind anything, she seems to eat whatever is in front of her, so, I hope she takes to raw well.
