.. is losing the battle.

After almost two years of treating her breast cancer with removal of her tiets and homeophatic medicines it's now finished. Kama is 12 years of age (still acts like she's 2) but now another big tumor is growing between her front legs (brest bone). Too many nervs over there and we don't want to put her on the stress of an operation.

What's left is enjoying her presence every day to the fullest!
Gosh... It hurts and at same time so resting... And Kama? Well she just wants dinner now

Oh no, that's terrible news. I'm right there with you (well sort of). My elderly dsh has a tumor growing in his nose next to his eye. They can't operate and if they do radiation, he won't be able to smell at all and will starve himself. So, we're just enjoying the time we have left with him. The vet said he'd have 6 months at most, but that was last summer and he's still going strong. I hope that you still get a very long time with your hungry little girl (((hugs)))

Bless her little heart! She has a wonderful family that has been there for her over the past 12 years and will be with her until the end.

They become such a permanent member of our family. Enjoy your time with her and know the memories will never go away!

Sending prayers in your direction!

Sad fact:
We only have her for a little more than 3 years now... We got her from a breeder who stopped breeding with her because she gave still born babies but in between gave her anti-conception pills. Well, little did we know. The tumors started within a year since we had her.
But we give love to her in the amount of a lifetime!

She is our first naked girl and she got the company of 2 younger cool naked guys! What a life right!? :))

This is a good way to be. You'll know when it's time. Enjoy the time you have with your girl, she knows she is surrounded by love.

Thinking of you.

I'm so sorry you and your strong girl are facing this.
I had a Bernese Mountain Dog for 11 years who was diagnosed with a pulmonary tumor about 6 months before she lost her battle with cancer. Those 6 months were precious and we did all kinds of things: extra rides, fewer baths, more time at the dog park, lots of cuddle time on the couch. I think her favorite was when I would order a pizza just to feed her the crust. :) Knowing the end is near is tough, but it can also be freeing in a sense. For me it allowed me to let go of some of the paralyzing anxiety about losing Greta and instead focus on having her with me in that moment.

But trust me, I also know how hard it is. Just typing this about my girl has brought tears to my eyes, and Greta has been gone 4 years. I guess my point is to say I'm so sorry and I hope you can enjoy the time you have with (and don't be afraid to spoil her even more than normal). Kama is obviously a very loved girl who is lucky to have found your family. Sending you thoughts of peace and understanding.

Hugs and purrs to you and your family. You have given her a real home and lots of love and care these past 3 years and I am sure she has been so happy and appreciative of that. Treasure your remaining time together, take pictures, and get lots of snuggles and cuddles in. You are a gift to each other.

Blessings,
Sandy

@Kristininn,It's true indeed. The feeling of 'giving up the battle' gave me peace. Your story is so recognizable! I had this experience too with my first horse. After a struggle of a year with very heavy medicine I/he decided to stop it. I gave myself a month to prepare myself to the first great goodbye and he went very peacefully to the forever green pasture's.
Yes, we'll make it another beautifull goodbye. Thanks for your story!

And thank you all for your kind and comforting words! Huggs and purrs back to you

What a wonderful sphynx mom you are. I know this must be so hard for you, but you certainly have the right outlook and perspective on things. All our best to you and your beautiful girl.

Oh, how I hate to hear someone is losing the battle....but she has fought the good fight, and now it's time to enjoy the time you have left together. You have given her love and a good life with you. She will let you know when it's time and it is very nice that your vet will come to your home so she can pass peacefully across the Bridge, surrounded by the people and things she has come to love. Thank you for loving her enough to give her the final gift there is left to give.....in such a loving way. And I truly believe you will see her again someday because you are her true family...and she'll be there waiting for you to join her and make your family whole again. Until then, enjoy each other. The days together are sweet when time is short. I hope you have lots of good days left to enjoy together. And please know we are here, we understand, and we care.
Hugs,
Susi and the gang

It is such a shame that such a beautiful sweet creature was treated so terribly and was caused so much pain. I have no doubt you have given her the best life and more love than she could have ever dreamed of. I know it's hard knowing what's coming, but enjoy her company and just love her as much as you can every day that you have left with her. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs!}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
