Hello everyone,
Thank you for letting me be apart of your sphynx community :)
We are getting a little boy that we have named Hairlesson Ford and a little girl we have named skinderella.
They get to come home on the 14th of November but i think this will be the longest week of my life!
I was wondering if anyone can give any tips and must haves/ dos to owning sphynx as these two are our first babies! i have been reading like crazy but would like your experiences as well.
I will be reading through the forum like crazy this week before they get here :)
Thank you in advance!!

Thank you everyone. Its so hard to wait for them to get here but its one week exactly today. Im just not a very patient person and i have been waiting over 10 years to get 2 siblings but wanted to be in a house before we did you they would have a lot of room.
Oh i did have a question, i have a domestic short hair female cat at home. Do other cats except the sphynx cats well?

@Calliope This might help you a bit Introducing a new adult sphynx cat or sphynx kitten into the home

It really depends on the cat. Some accept immediately, some take a while to warm up and there are the few that just do not accept at all. Most given in though by the second week. The great part is with getting 2 they already are playmates so your other cat will not be tortured as much with kitten antics lol. Let the count down continue!

@Calliope , welcoming you and yours to the lair family! Soooo excited for you !
Love their names and look forward to your journey with us!
I know the wait ! I waited 15 yrs till my first sphynx - I had a Bengal To introduce at the time.
The links about introductions is great :)

I personally go slow at their comfort level with a kitty room set up and lots of tossing treats and playing with Dabird toys at the same time- always put away any string pole toys - they are notorious for swallowing and getting into over on too of under everthing!
*kitty proof for life - some like knocking over things and stealing too!
They are a hoot you will see soon!

I put new kitties in their own room for the first week , supplement with l-lysine powder on wet food as an immune booster . Siblings together will be soo much fun! They will probably settle in fast together :)

Just be sure to give extra cuddles and loving to the resident cat and keep it all positive at their comfort level.
I also recommend one extra kitty box than number of kitties

Looking forward to pics and tales!

So happy for you!
I know your hearts are going pitter patter with Sphynx Love :)

Keep us updated!

Any form is fine. Many of us use the powder because it is more economical. You can always switch if you want later down the road. You are so close to Gotcha Day!!!!

This is Scarlett No'Haira. I worried about how bony she is. Is there anything i can do to fatten her up safely

@Calliope wow all three are so gorgeous! And they have such cute faces. Scarlett No'Haira is indeed a bit skinny. Is she eating well? No poop issues?
I know their is a receipe to fatten up kittens. I thought @susi794 , @Catzzzmeow or @momdeeze knows more about this. Hope that I'm right about that.

Thank you very much we love them! We were getting 2 but couldnt decide between the two sisters. They had a long plane ride but everything is normal :) eating and drinking like little pigs and stool looks normal and firm.
Im hoping her littermates just were stealing her food. I wanted to give them a couple days to settle before making another long trip with them to the vets. They seem perfectly normal though and very playful and cuddly!

Hairlesson slept with me under the blankets all night and was still sleeping on my chest when i woke up this morning with the two girls at the bottom of my bed!

@Calliope Sounds like you got yourself three bundles of love. Never a chilly night anymore with two feethwarmers and one chestcuddler:). If No'hairy eats well I think she will gain weight in no time!

Congrats. Glad to hear they re all eating. They all look a bit thin because of the backbones showing a bit. We usually recommend GLOP when they are not eating or need to fatten up quickly. If you opt to not go the GLOP route, I would free feed wet and dry right now in hopes of putting some weight on all of them quickly. Did you by chance pick up L-Lysine that you had inquired about? They should fatten up quickly. Be sure to get to your vet for a check up as soon as possible be bring a poop sample in case there are an parasite issues.

Fattening up Brian - GLOP recipe

Again congrats!
