Pearlie's First Show

Hi Everybody! I know Pearlie isn't a sphynx, but she thinks of you guys as her family too and I wanted to show you some pics of her very first show. She was soooo good and I was very proud of her.
Here I am hanging out at the hotel with my mama. I was afraid of this place in the beginning--but it had a nice soft bed, and the best of all was that I got my mommy all to myself for the WHOLE night!


Here I am in my show "apartment". It's really cool! I have a nice soft bed, my very own hammock and a private bathroom. I LOVE it!


Do you think I look good in pink and zebra?


It got a little chilly in the hall, so Mom covered me up in my zebra covers--I felt like a real diva! I was such a good girl, Mom rarely closed my "storm doors"--I was perfectly content in my apartment.

Here I am with the first four judges:




This judge was my favorite! She thinks I was the BEST! And she gave me a ribbon!
I finally beat Rapunzel who took first in the other rings. I was starting to worry!



My mommy was so very proud of me! Later everyone said that the judge who said I deserved first place likes the more refined, delicately featured cats-- like me and she is an important district judge! So I felt better...I am refined!

Here I am with the final judge...she looked at me. Then she looked at Rapunzel. Then back at me. She even checked the standards again....I thought I might have a chance here......but she chose Rapunzel. Boy, that Rapunzel is tough competition! I sure hope she doesn't come to our next show!



Everybody said I did real good--especially when my first show is as an adult and that usually nobody wins anything on their first show. I don't know if it's true, but it made me feel good. Mommy and I went and congratulated Rapunzel, then packed up our things and drove home. I was exhausted when we got home and I had sooooo much to tell my brothers and sisters about. We think we might do it again......

Yes, it's a Sturdi Shelter. I bought it new, but went to the clearance section where they sell shelters with slight flaws at about half price. Pink wouldn't have been my chosen color, but for the price it was a no brainer. I thought it would be really messed up, but I only found one tiny little splotch of dark ink on the inside. I love it and think it looks nice with the zebra which I paid full price for. I also added the mat and the hammock and covers for them. I also bought the cover on top from them too, but the blanket underneath on the table is a two dollar WalMart blanky. If I had it to do over again, the only thing I'd do differently is to make my own cover from material I bought at the store--that would've been cheaper and maybe if I could've figured out how to sew the covers for the mattress and the hammock I'dve done that too. But they just shake out with one shake--so easy. And more importantly to me, they also collapse and go back in their storage bag just as easily. I don't show my sphynx because they are also TICA and there are never any shows, so I might double register them someday. TICA never has any shows around me either.
