Peeing inappropriately

Hi guys Luna's being a naughty girl she's been continuously peeing on her sisters bed and blankets, (her sister being a pup) they get along fine but the last 2 weeks even after washing she continues to pee on the pups bedding, she has 2 beds and Luna's peed on them both, she only seems to be peering on the pups bedding no where else, Luna's desexed and I've booked her a vet appointment this weekend. Just wondering if anyone's had this problem and how to solve it. Also for the vet appointment should I bring along a urine sample?

I've never had the problem but since its only her bedding, I'd venture to say that it's a territorial / marking thing. Even though she is female, they can still mark to show it is their territory. I hope so one jump in to help you fix it as I am not sure how to do so. The only time I had had inappropriate peeing in when the kitty doesn't like the litter or box! I'm sorry! Good luck!

Did you try moving the beds? I think it's a territorial thing. Don't they share beds?

It definitely sounds territorial but I've never ever heard of cats doing that. Maybe seeing an animal behaviour specialist might help :/ does she ONLY go on the blankets, or does she use her little box as well?

Maybe you could try getting a new bed? Either for her or for the new addition. The vet will be able to rule out an infection but I would assume that it’s territorial. I know girls can be really bad about marking when they are not altered but I’m sure spayed females still do it occasionally.

They have seperate beds, Luna's decided to pee in the pups beds but also uses her own litter tray, she's also been useing the pups toilet which is in the kitchen (one of those fake grass box things) we even caught her doing it twice in 10minutes so she's not peeing to relieve herself unless there Is an infection. I just don't know, hopefully the vet can give some advice

We threw out one of the pups beds thinking if we got rid of it shed stop but she just started peeing on the pups other bed lmao

Sounds territorial to me. Looks like she is saying I'm the boss here so watch yourself !

I had a female Himalayan that did that once and it was territorial. You may need to see a animal behaviorist to see if you can resolve it. Although when mine did it we were never able to get her to stop. She made sure she got her point across when she was angry or upset about anything including getting in trouble and or a new pet being brought in.

Do the dog bed have foam inside them? Foam is treated with urea (ie urine). Some cats (including my Danser) will pee on beds that have foam inside them.
But I would still get her checked out by the vet.

I think there cotton filled, she's going to the vet in the morning so I will definately fill them in on everything, I've noticed Luna's got red gums aswell yesturday and spent all day today searching for tooth care products for cats which I found none, will also be bringing that up

Well not good news for Luna's vet visit at all, not only does she have an ear infection possible urine infection and possible worms she's also got dental disease and a stage 5 heart murmur which prevents her dental issue from being fixed. She's been hospitalized and were waiting to hear what's happening with her. I feel like a terrible mother, I should have taken her in sooner and checked her teeth more often hopefully I get her back soon

Please do not beat yourself up. You did nothing wrong. Sounds like a lot is going on and I am sure it is overwhelming. We are here for you. I'm upset knowing she's going to be poked and proded because I wasn't more observant altho she acts everything's fine I should have seen or noticed there was something wrong but I'm angry because my breeder gave her to me knowing she had a stage 2 murmur that could get worse, now at a stage 5 I'm way too in love with her to even think 1 day I could loose her it's just a horrid day

Sorry to hear she has all that wrong with her. The infections are easily treatable with antibiotics and the worms also easily treatable. I'm sure they should be able to give her therapeutic medication for her heart to help her lead a lovely life. Try not to beat yourself up about it. She's in the best place to get better. Oh no! I hope you get everything under control soon. Don't beat yourself up. We all do the best we can. We know you love her.....just try to be calm and keep us informed.

She stayed in for a few hours luckily they got the blood and urine first try, results a came back all clear, her ears seem to be clearing up but are still tender to touch. She's on a list of medication which I think takes her energy out of her, she usually zips around the house for hours on end. The vets strongly suggested an Eco ASAP to see what is happening with the heart she sounded very concerned. But the vets super nice and offered to take my calls anytime even if its just to chat. I'm not able to get an Eco ATM coz I'm broke after the last vet visit and start a new job in 2 weeks I don't think a few weeks will matter hopefully. Luna's a strong girl

Happy to see you posting the latest results. You seem hopeful, but realistic and that is super. We just had to have two echocardiograms on Babas in the last month and I know the emotional and financial strain involved. Your vet sounds supportive and that is awesome. Just keep doing your research and asking questions and seeking support, we are here for you

Oh no! I am so sorry for all the bad news all at once. As others have said, dont beat yourself up. Cats are masters at hiding their problems, stress and pain. As far as the echo goes, do it as soon as you can. There are meds that can help and the echo will help determine the best course of treatment. Once you know what is going on with the heart the vet may be able to plan a treatment for the dental issues.

Luna's vet appointment went well, I havnt cleaned her ears in a week just been useing epi otic and her ear ointment each day and the vet said they were basicly already clean so she only had to flush them to get them sparkling, her bowels are fine now and she's got more energy, we've got greenies for her teeth which thankfully she likes. The only down side is her heart the vets not sure if there will be treatment but is referring us to a university professor who will be the in house cardiologist for a few weeks, so we will get her checked out and see what if anything can be done. So today seems like a good day for Luna, plenty of energy and no infections
