Hello all. Sorry I haven't checked in for a while.
Sadly I have some news; Pekoe has been deteriorating over the past few weeks and it has all come to a head these past couple of days. He has stopped responding to his medication for his heart disease & has been choking on the water that is filling up in his lunges, his breathing has been consistently rapid over the past couples of days and it is such a sad sight to see. Our little baby Pekoe is dying right infront of us.

After speaking with our vet, he let us know that Pekoe is having congestive heart failure again, this time it is stretching over several days. We have always said that the moment Pekoe starts suffering, is in pain or discomfort then we will have to say goodbye.

That day is tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will be saying goodbye to the little love of my life.

Thank you for loving Pekoe enough to give him the only gift you have left to give him. When you take him in, please stay with him and help him ease his way across the Rainbow Bridge surrounded by the family he loves so he doesn't have to be afraid. Pekoe, my sweet boy--your family loves you.....and losing you is going to be so very hard. Your mumma says you are the little love of her life. What a lucky boy you have been to be loved so much!

My heart aches for you--I know this loss is going to hit you hard. And that nothing I can say will make you feel much better. Just please know that you are giving him the gift of no more pain, no more struggling to breathe. I imagine he will sleep with the angels tomorrow night....and he will spend hours telling them what a wonderful family he had.....and that he knows how much you loved him. He might even send you another kitty to love sometime soon.....because you shouldn't waste good love. There are so many animals that don't have it and have never even known it. What a sweet homage to the love you felt for Pekoe if you do help another kitty.

We are here if you need us--don't be afraid to reach out to us. We will cry right along with you.

Pekoe, tomorrow as you cross the Bridge, I hope you see all of our kitties who have gone before you, waiting there to greet you. I hope you run fast, breathe free and play like you are a kitten again. Don't worry, your family will be ok.....you have loved each other well--and love is everything.
Mourning your loss also and praying for a peaceful heart for you, in the knowledge that you are being his angel.

How sad. My heart breaks for you. I know, it won't be easy and I know, it won't heal over night.
But, he was loved and wanted, that's a wonderful thing. He had a happy life, even though, it was too short.

Saying goodbye to Pekoe this morning was incredibly tough. I love, or I should say, loved that little creature more than words can express. They become so much of you, so important, so engraved on your life that losing them feels almost like losing a limb. My fiancé and I feel empty inside- but are at peace knowing that what we did was right for our little buddy.

It's so true. I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. You have all my warmest thoughts. With Astor gone, it does feel like I've lost a limb, but feeling that peace is good. Take care of yourself.

I never saw this post until now. I'm sorry about that and I'm so sorry to hear about Pekoe passing away. I hope you can find peace in your decision. You gave him the greatest gift to let him go to the Rainbow Bridge and not suffer any longer.
