Took Zino to the vet today, for his check up and shots as well as the lumps that have formed on his lips and on his neck.
He's our 14 year old wonderful loving (and sometimes a pest) Sphynx. He's at the moment running, jumping eating and peeing/pooping normal best Bud. But these bumps needed to be checked. and now.
Our vet, who is experienced with Sphynx cats and Zino really likes him, took one look and said possible melanomas. Needle Aspiration biopsy done immediately results not before Tuesday (I am in Germany, Friday is a public holiday so things get slowed down of course). Even if it is NOT Melanoma the lumps are being removed.
Our vet knows no Ketamine, and Zino had to have years ago a tooth removed (and cleaning done) and he was fine and he's not had a problem with anesthesia before. No heart murmur and no HCM. Just this looming maybe melanoma.
I am a wreck, upset and also worn out. Not only because of Zino (this is just the next stress) but what has happened before.. December 2024 Brain bleed (me) emergency surgery with medical coma for 8 days, almost a month in the hospital then to rehabilitation. Also knowing at that time (Now 2025) I had to have a second brain surgery because of aneurysm which a stent was placed into my brain, over a year out of work and just back to work in February of this year. Friend with Breast Cancer, Dad has Parkinsons that got worse, and my mother in law is 91 with stage 4 asthma, arthritis and a weak heart and is NOT doing well...
At the moment (sorry if this sounds horribly sarcastic) but Zino and the possible Melanoma lumps are just icing on the proverbial cake.
Thats our Zino, you can see the big lump on his lip in the picture, there are 4 others....
