Just had an update from the vets, Max's operation went well, but the vet is considering keeping him in for observation for another night. He's gonna make the decision in a couple of hours, but they have said that if he stays in I can go visit him later. I'm so upset that he might not be home tonight, but I'm sure there only want what's best for him.

I'm gonna take him an overnight bag with his food and some blankets if he's not coming home

Thanks for the update. You are a good Mommy. As much as you want him home, one more night to make sure he is really set won't be too bad considering what he has been through. Are they saying to keep him crated when he gets home to limit movement?

I haven't been given details of what care he needs yet but I presume he will need crating to reduce movements and stop him attempting to jump, one of my furries was run over about ten years ago and had a broken pelvis she had to be crated for 6 weeks, she's still with me today leading a very full life

Max is staying in overnight again he has a break that has also splintered up the bone, he has a a pin and wires in his leg, if it doesn't heal proparlly then he will have another op to plate it.
He smells awful, but is awake but not yet eaten.

Oh that poor little boy. At least they can give him some strong pain meds and give him another day of complete rest. You will stress less tonight knowing he is in the best place. Fingers are crossed that he only needs one operation.

Aww, I hope Max can come home soon. I'm glad they could keep him comfortable there. Scary how much damage he did when he fell!

Come home soon Max!

Thank you for the update on Max. I know you feel sad and terrible about what happened, but I think he will heal up and be almost as good as new. We had a member here before who's 4 month old kitten fell from a distance and broke his hip. He recovered very well, so don't worry too much. Love and hugs to you and Max. I hope to hear he will be home soon.

Sending prayers that Max's leg heals well and soon, and that it doesn't hurt too much :(. Something tells me his Mommy is going to spoil him rotten tonight and he'll forget about his owie...

He's home, he's eaten but hates his cone of shame, he wants to lay on my bed but we've compromised by putting one of his soft beds in the cage with him , he's on anti biotics and has to visit the vet on Friday

Poor guy. :( Glad you have him home and relatively cozy. I hope he heals quickly and is as good as new in no time. I want to snuggle and kiss him, the poor baby...

I am so happy he is home! Just thought I would share, I am not sure how big the crate is, but when we had to crate Azura after hurting her toe the first week we got her, I cut up and tied a very thin blanket to the inside of the crate and sort of made a low hammock. One she could step on to and not have to jump, but was up and off of the bottom of the crate giving a bit more room. I just tied it really tight but she loved snuggling in it because it sort of wrapped around her and all the litter from the pan in the crate did not get where she was laying. The litter in the crate was just the biggest pain.

Happy Healing Max!
