I believe in the power of prayer and my daughters cat needs as much as he can get right now. Sebastion was noted to be eating cat litter, and when my daughter looked at his gums-they were white. He spent 2 days in the emergency hospital. Platelets are low and he is not making red blood cells. They do not see a bleed anywhere. No internal parasites or leukemia. He has been transfused and is still doing poorly.
My daughter is beside herself as this is her baby. Please send prayers and positive thoughts. Thanks all.

Sebastion came home from the hospital. He has had 2 transfusions and not much improvement. They are thinking cancer or a bone marrow problem. He will go back to the vet for more labs this week and if his body has not started making red blood cells, unfortunately my daughter will have to make the hardest decision of her life so far. He does not apppear to be in any pain and is eating. But is def not his playful, happy self. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

So many hugs to you!! :(

When Emma was real bad, she too was eating cat litter. The vet said that was a sign of anemia and this was at the same time they found her cancer.

I know you guys will make the right decision for Sebastion and know that he loves you soo much!!!

My heart aches for you guys! Please keep us posted.

HUGS!!!!

@PrimateLove They did also say he was anemic.
He is home and my daughter said he is playing a little bit, but gets tired fast. His gums are still white this morning and he is still wanting to munch on cat litter. He goes back to the vet wed or thursday.

Please keep us posted, and feel free to message me if you have any questions. Emma is doing better, but they removed a large mass from her small intestine and our prayers is that with the surgery and chemo, they will kill that cancer for good, but we never know.

They also did a transfusion on Emma to boost her cell count before her surgery! I am praying hard for your Sebastion. I am also praying for you guys and comfort *hugs*

OMG, Andrea, I just saw this. I haven't been on and then I had to catch up with all my alerts. OMG, I'm so sorry to hear this. I am praying that Sebastion makes a full recovery.
Does the vet think eating the kitty litter caused this or is it a symptom of what's wrong?

Always,
Robin
BIG hugs to you all oxoxox

I wrote the message above without going through all the posts to see if you updated. Sorry to hear that the blood transfusions didn't do much to help Sebastion. :(

I'm still praying that he gets all better and doesn't have anything that your daughter will have to make a difficult decision. :(

I hope she gets better, my Nala sadly had FIP and this was one of the first signs showing non regenerative anaemia. I hope it is nothing as serious as this. Sending you lots and lots of prayers to get through this worrisome time

With Emma, they said the litter eating was a sign of anemia :(. Point forward, I know if I see my kitties doing this to take them in right away.
