Plush Microfibre Pillow Cases FTW!

I use a number of Sunbeam King Size heating pads (with temperature control) in the four cave beds I have scattered around the house. This was my dilemma:

I would place a plush blanket over or around the heating pad and Max would paw it up until he could crawl underneath, eventually dirtying the heating pad itself. While the heating pads are washable, I don't like to tempt electronics in any washing device, so this needed to be prevented.

I bought some pillow cases that opened along the bottom (underside) rather than the ends, and put a blanket around that. Duh, I was now washing TWO items weekly for each heating pad as Max, and now Min, like to tunnel or rearrange.

Then it occurred to me... why not use a nice plush pillowcase that I can wash weekly. One thing!

So lo and behold... Online shopping to the rescue.

Voila!

I bought 8 in total, 4 from two different vendors.

The heating pad fits right in.

Here are Max & Min's beds next to my side of the bed. (Min sleeps on the left and Max on the right). Please excuse the white board with black duct tape table top -- I need to find an appropriate covering for this yet.

While not inexpensive, I feel worth it. We use them ourselves too -- not just for nakeds! LOL I love that you can set auto shut off and control the temperature. And while they can be thrown in the washing machine, I try to avoid it lest it weaken any of the electronics.

Of course, if someone can sew, this would be a dead easy project. But alas, I cannot. I do HAVE a sewing machine, but um... yeah.
