Yesterday Bentley had a really bad day...
He loves the bathroom... Its like his favorite room in the house so he's always following people in there. I keep the door shut to keep him out of the toilet & out of the garbage in there. My 12 year old goddaughter is visiting me this week & didn't realize he was in the bathroom when she closed the door & left with my mom. So my poor sweet boy was locked in the bathroom from 10am until 730pm :(
When I pulled in the driveway I could hear him screaminggggggg already!
I ran inside & I opened the door & his face was so swollen... His paws are swollen & raw from him trying to get out... He even rubbed his face against the door/walls/whatever so hard that he rubbed his little stubby whiskers off... I am was so heartbroken to see him like that. He then ran around the house just meowing in a panic, he finally let me grab him & he started purring. He was so disoriented but after he got some food in him he was back to somewhat normal but now his meow is hoarse! My poor baby. I cleaned his paws up, put some ointment on & they look ok they're just red. His face I just held a cool rag on, the swelling went down a lot. He was so hot to the touch. So sad.
He's ok today but just some lair prayers would be appreciated!

Poor Bentley!! Curly and Hairry are always sneaking in the walk in closet when the door is open and then we turn off the light and sheut the door (not realizing he is in there). I work 71m-3:30pm so they get stuck in there all day. They have even ripped up the carpet in the closet thus making it hard for us to open the door back up. Hope Bentley has a better day tomorrow!!

I am soooo glad that Bently is okay! When I read the title of the post, I really was afraid that I would see the worst! Hopefully he's fine tonight and you will never have that problem again.

Poor Bentley! I hope his owies heal fast! Check out "finger pinch guards" at Amazon. That should prevent a repeat episode unless the human forgets to put it back on the door when exiting the bathroom.

Poor guy, maybe his fascination for the bathroom will be a bit less for the coming weeks?
Feel better soon Bentley and soak up all extra the attention mommy will be giving you :)

They must've been playing through the door because there was like 5 toys in the bathroom LOL. I think she passed them under the door. I mean it wasn't the worst place for him to be he loves the bathroom, he had water b/c he drinks out of the toilet LOL YUCK & he had pulled the towel off the towel rack I'm sure he was cuddled on it.

Starla is a great sister. She tried to make him happy and take his mind off of the stress by playing! If she could she would have opened that door, I know it.

The poor thing! I hope this teaches him that we, too, can be inattentive and to watch his step. I once closed Nym in a closet for most of the night. I woke up to a muffled sound around 5am, and found that it was coming from the closet. Figuring this was the case, I let her out. She hurled herself toward the bed in a tremendous purr, and then she curled up on my chest and fell asleep.

Now that my cats are over a year old, I'll deliberately close them in rooms and closets (unless there's something dangerous in there, of course) when they think they're getting away with something. I'll hear their pathetic little mews, let it go on for a few minutes, then let them out. I think they're on to my game, but they started it!
