My poor pink boy is having a really rough time of it.

Last week he was diagnosed with a URI with a secondary bacterial infection and was given a long-acting injectable antibiotic. With the antibiotic, sitting in the bathroom with lots of steam x3 a day, and a lot of love he's seemed slightly improved, moving between 50% and about 75% better.

Last night he took a turn for the worse again, however, so we're off to the vet this afternoon. He has the classic symptoms of rhinotracheitis (discharge from one eye, congestion, coughing), but they have worsened again. He's also pretty listless again and last night either threw-up or coughed-up a bunch of mucous. His meow has also remained hoarse (now for a full week) and it's so sad to see my normally talkative guy struggle to get his words out.

I'm trying to remain calm, but I'm not a very calm person in general, so am very worried about my boy. Any thoughts and energy you can send his way are very appreciated and I will update this thread when we return from the vet later today.

Poor Winnie, feel better little guy! & Mom, I know how you feel when you say "I'm not a calm person" I am totally there with you but just try to remember that our animals pick up on our emotional cues, so stay positive! Hugs from Sarah, Starla, & Bentley Boo.

Update!
We're just leaving the vet now.
She says that it looks like any secondary infection has cleared (no fever and his lungs are clear). What's kept him so sick is a nasty case of rhinotracheitis (viral). She sent us home with eye and nose antibiotics and gave him another small antibiotic shot to ensure nothing can take hold while he is vulnerable.

It's so wonderful to have a great vet. I feel much better have her input and guidance which will help me remain calm while my pink man recovers.

Thank you all for your well wishes!
