My 6-month-old kitten's eyes are very sensitive to the sun, does anyone know why? They also sometimes look red. In the sun they appear to be a very light blue. I was suspecting she was albino but her face and ears have color.

Definitely not an albino…most likely due to blue eyes you are seeing this. Blue eyed humans are sensitive to light as well…I am sharing this that I googled:

Cats and dogs with a blue eye color may display both eyeshine and red-eye effect. Both species have a tapetum lucidum, so their pupils may display eyeshine. In flash color photographs, however, individuals with blue eyes may also display a distinctive red eyeshine. @avamcleod

@avamcleod , welcoming you and your adorable baby girl to the lair family. is she Donskoy , peterbald? I would say not albino and echoing catzzzmeows reply.
she is precious! such a sweet face.

has she had a wellness check? you can ask your vet to take a look at eyes while you are there. during wellness checks, (side note , I bring a fresh stool sample with my newbies,)

hard to tell from the 3rd photo... in person does she have the third eyelid showing? can you email the pic to you vet?

so glad you joined us with your sweetie! look forward to name and more pics... all paws are family

Okay thank you so much, I just had her wellness checkup today too and the vet suggested the same thing. Thanks! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. She is a peterbald and donskoy mix I believe. Her name is Birdie <3 I also had her wellness check today and the vet believes her eyelids may turn in a little but nothing that would cause her discomfort.

Aww I love her name. My first Sphynx was a seal point. I have a soft spot for them.
