what a stressful past couple of days. the poor baby is obviously disoriented and confused about his limp, and has been taking liquid pain medication that makes him loopy and tired. he was being very curious upon first coming home, and then laid down last night around midnight and has been in bed since. Its 5pm the following day. He hasn't gotten up to use the litter or eat so far today, but I was able to hand feed him some treats and kibble earlier so that I could give him his antibiotics. I'm worried for the little guy. Please keep grim in your thoughts <3

Praying Grim gets to feeling better very soon. He's been thru so much the past few days it may take him a couple of days to act more like himself.

Awwhh,.. you two have had a rough few days.... a little rest to help heal , let the meds kick in and go at his pace... he will get used to the bandage and adjust ... each day is one day closer to a full recovery (((hugs ))) and positive vibes..
I know when I had surgery a few days of bed rest after felt good before I was up and at it adjusting

big head smooches n hugs to team Grim!

Bless the sweet little guy {} What an ordeal you've all been through. Hope he starts eating, drinking and going toilet more soon though! I was wondering if he might be more comfortable with one of the soft cones? There are threads with pics of them on here - you can search or maybe @Yoda mom or @Catzzzmeow can help find them?

what a great idea!! It’s going to be on him for a while so i would love him to feel more comfy. I am a little worried today as he still hasn’t eaten and needs to take his antibiotics with food :( seeing the vet tomorrow !

They sell a lot of different and affordable soft cones on Amazon :) When it comes to food, maybe you could get some of that mousse or pate type food. Do they sell liquid snacks for cats in Canada? They are good for mixing medicine into, and gets nutrition and fluid in as well. And you can always mash some mousse or pate food in with it, so it's nice and easy to just lick up... Less effort to eat, but tasty!

I am definitely not a proponent of Rx diets as they used the same low quality ingredients as the non-Rx versions and cost a lot more, but that aside, a few years ago when I had a kitty that was recovering from surgery I did use this Rx diet:
Hill's® Prescription Diet® a/d® Canine/Feline

It's really soft and passes thru a syringe. Probably not what you want to hear but if he keeps not eating, syringe feeding might be an option and it really isn't hard.

hello lovelies, grim is doing ok today. Just came back from the vet, they gave him under the skin fluids because he was very dehydrated. They put a needle in his back and gave him some hydration (he looks like a camel right now lol, but itll go down in a few hours as it absorbs). We are hoping this will kick start his appetite and then we can give him his antibiotics. He is happing peacefully beside me. Despite the pain he's been such a cuddle bug, sleeping in my chest and purring softly.
