I don't know...I didn't have good luck with having human babies either--one stillbirth and three miscarriages! For me the human kind were far more difficult to have. At least I ended up with kittens. But that is what made me go into teaching--and now I have lots and lots of kids.

All teachers should be like you. We have A 9th grader and A 6th grader and some of the teachers I have come across should have picked another profession!

Thanks for the compliment. I truly do love my students. I voluntarily take kids that are struggling because I can get miraculous things from them--but it's nothing horribly innovative or earth shatteringly new-- I simply love them. Kids will try so hard for you when they know you truly care about them. They know I love them no matter what--and they bust their butts to do their best. And after awhile, they start to believe they are learners--and believing you can do it, is half the battle. I wouldn't change my job for anything on earth. My life is so much the richer for having these kids in it....and I hope I can give them even one tiny little bit of a seed that grows and grows and that makes a difference in their futures. If loving them makes it so, then they will all be successful. I love even the horribly difficult ones--it's been my experience that if I want the child to change, I first have to change how I perceive and subsequently treat that child. The change has to begin with me--then they will follow.

Very well said Susi. I live with my boyfriend and his ADHD son and we think he is coming out with some OCD issues as well but we could use a few teachers like you for him!! We need a surplus of good teachers in Ohio! We have to work with him 10 times harder because his teachers will not or cannot take the time needed with him. But anyhow, I'm hopeful and glad to know that their are good teachers out there somewhere and will continue to hope we find one for him. xoxo

Susi I just applauded you!!!! It does make A difference when A teacher is like you. The sad part is that it is so hard to find A teacher that cares these days. My husband teases me that our kids are going to be thrown out of school if I don't stop complaining:Woo: My job is to stand up for them and that is what I will do!

You go, Mom! You are the best advocate they will ever have! And tell your hubby that that is what mommas do--they fight for their kids!

I'm neurotic but have a wonderful vet that understands. I run to the vet when ever I have something going on that is questionable. I also have his home number for any after hour issues. He has been so good to me through the years. He's met me at the clinic in the middle of the night and has come to my house when it was time to say good bye to a loved one. He is a God send!
