Prayers for my baby.

Yesterday I had adopted a sphynx from Craigslist. She's super loving, purr happy, & smooth skin. I got her completely free & was shocked at her condition. Her eyes are severely infected. She apparently got attacked by the father. Her right eye is twice the size it should be, maybe bigger, I don't know. She needs antibiotic in her eyes every 4 hours. It doesn't even bother me to wake up in the middle of the night to take care of her. I love her so dearly, & am crossing fingers hard this antibiotic works. Her eye lid was swollen & red, that has gone down & the redness is gone. She can open her eyes a lot better than before. She's alert, purring, eating, using the bathroom, everything like she's healthy. If by next week when she sees the vet again & her eye isn't going down, it may have to be removed. We are doing everything possible to make her as comfortable as possible while she recovers!

Thank you hun. I am hoping she recovers fast. It's so heart breaking seeing her this way. She deserves so much better than this. She doesn't even act like she hurts, either! She's a trooper. She's wandering around everywhere, purring non-stop, always rubbing her face against me. I'm always worried she'll rub her eye against me.

Welcome to the Lair and I really hope she keeps improving quickly!! And as Caloci said, it will be sad if she ends up losing the eye, but now she's sure to have a happy home which is worth SO much - especially to a little one with such a rough start!!

What I was told was they had rescued her from a guy who didn't know diddly squat about sphynx cats & didn't take proper care of them, just bred them to make quick money without really caring for the animals. I'm not sure if it was a cover story or not, but they seemed like really nice people looking for a home for her instead of money, because they gave her to me for free. I can usually tell if people are mean & cruel hearted.

I know that she'll be happy in the end either way, but I'd just love to see that she can keep both her eyes. But if removing it is what has to happen, then she'll always be happy & loved here regardless. I'm actually thinking if she does lose her eye & is completely blind for the rest of her life, we are thinking of making her into a therapy cat for those who have disabilities. It would be an amazing job for her, & getting love & attention daily would make her much happier, too.


Oh! & also, it's hard to tell with the yellowish colour of your avatar pic, but that's pretty much how she looks! Completely bald except her nose, & her nose fur is white & she's all pink.
