Friday update : 1/3/2025:
Boo had his cystocentesis ultrasound scheduled for 1115 am this morning. Vet wanted to also take a peek at his rounded liver and bladder .
Well, everything I do is a project. The vet tech took Boo back. she came back very soon. hmmm. yup... Vet said Boo's bladder too small and not enough urine in it. soo. next appt not until Jan 9th.
Vet asked me if I would leave him for the day and She would try later. So Boo stayed at the vet. I got a call around 4. they were able to do the cystio ultrasound and come get him.
Vet was slammed with a few emergencies. always on Friday of course.

I didn't want to go home over the weekend without knowing something .
Tech told me Dr Jackson saw no bladder stones ! yah for that... and liver , gall bladder and appearance of bladder looked okay.. yah!

The vet changed the urinalysis order to include C/S and MIC. culture and sensitivity, and the MIC is under miscroscope. can look for bladder cancer cells etc. for more inclusive testing.
being sent out to culture can take 5-7 days.

soo happy no stones seen in bladder and no immediate surgery !
we will see if he still has oxalate crystals in his tests sent out, any bladder cancer cells ( did that journey of TCC bladder cancer cells with Sam rottie) .

*** so great news nothing obvious seen for stones blocking and no surgery! @Catzzzmeow and all

prayers no cancer cells and we figure out what is going on with Sketch a Boo,

for now, soaking in the good news no blockage or stones seen ... powering thru the next test results with positive thoughts.

prayers for good news on results and get a diagnosis / treatment plan.

@Toa and Ross , thanks for checking on me and my babies.

Boo goes for his ultrasound /cystocentesis urine draw to send to lab.
the vet is going to check for the oxalate stones he showed positive for on his last lab work.
she is also going to check his bladder and liver for any tumors.
his liver is rounded on xray :( he has an enlarged liver and she wants to see why it is rounded.

prayers please.
if confirmed oxalate stones, they do not dissolve and need surgery for range of US $1500- $4000.
he is 11 yrs old. I am saying my prayers here for a New Year blessing for Boo. He is happy go lucky, has no idea what the reports and xray tests showed.

my crew is teaching me to live in the moment.
TobyLove , well, I do see changes in his energy. he sleeps for a few hours after pills. then gets up to play with me. I noticed he is not eating as good as he was pre diagnose of his moderate enlarge heart, CHF , and suspecte cancer lump on side of face based on FNA showing rare spindle cells.

Gunnar had tummy issues, green poo. :(. Gunnar goes in on Jan 7th. all paws crossed. will update his thread

saying my prayers tonight for Boo's ultrasound tmrw. worry because he does lay at my feet and moans sometimes.
I know the xray showed a lot of gas in his tummy last week.

hugs n head smooches to all paws, thank you for checking in
Praying for you and your babies that 2025 will slow down a bit to enjoy.

1/7/25: update on Sketch a Boo. and thank you for the lair prayers! working.

we are not out of the woods yet with no dx of what is going on.
Vet called me at 7pm with his reports. yah, no more oxalate crystals in urine, no bladder stones, No bladder cancer cells in urine. phew.
however, vet said cystatin level should be 0-99 , and it is 406.

was recommended by lab report to do a rechheck in 2 weeks a cystatin b test

the other thing noted is that his urine ph went from 5.5 to 8.5 now. I have been feeding him half his dry food with half rx Purina OX food. not sure if that is what raised the ph so quickly as it is supposed to do (because his low ph and oxalate crystals seen in his first test showed this and is suggestive of oxalate bladder stones. Cystio and new lab work shows none. phew. )

vet said lab work showed cystatin 4xs as high as it should be which can point to kidneys according to lab report notes.

recheck in a couple of weeks. thank you for the prayers. I am doing a happy dance with the news no surgery needed at this time.
keep the lair prayers coming!

update 1/26/2025
Boo recheck still has oxalate crystals in urine. Vet said some dogs can show oxalate crystals.
Tried to slooowly transition him to purina ox/sty rx food. what a disaster. even with the sloowest transition of just a few kibbles to only up to a 1/4 cup... explosive diarrhea for nearly a week. setting my alarm every 2 hours to take him out, along with pee accidents.

I called ProPlan Rx customer service. They did not want the food back to test. (even though in 2023 they had a recall in 2023 for proplan rx element that had too much vitamin D.

put him on Nutramax Proviable -DC probiotic capsule per vet ( she did not to upsell the rx version of Forte, wanting to see if the DC non rx helped).
Put him back on wellness core digestive health and a table spoon of canned pumpkin as a topper. Definitely helping, making progress not needing to go out every 2 hours. ( I read that the bladder cystocentesis /catheter ultrasound can cause urinating issue from irritation from the procedure).
Vet said if no improvement, she can prescribe Prion (incontinent pill mostly used for female dogs- which is working for my friend's senior rottie)

His cystatin level still 4x's high which can indicate kidney renal tube issue :(

Boo is happy go lucky, stool improving and holding his pee much longer and overnight. praying the oxalate crystals dont form bladder stones.

powering on with no exact diagnose on Boo $1200 in and do not know what is wrong inside. .:( Liver values still increased too high, however some improvement while I give him swansons Sam-e and milk thistle (same ingredient as Denamarin ).

vet did not push rx foods, she suggested the Hills adult 7+ kibble non rx, does have lower phosphorus/sodium for urinary health. Boo and Gunnar get hiils oral care as treats ,so went with this food and slowly adding to his kibble. so far, so good. kitties get hills urinary hairball for dry on the side for years and no issues so went witth it.

Boo lovin on kitties and his Bestie Tobylove. and we power with love n aussie dancing

thank you for the continued prayers.

@tontiangel , positive vibes and hugs to you as well. Boo is feeling better. He is sick inside but has no idea what the reports read. no confirmed diagnosis, after ultrasounds etc, and his cystatin b should be between 0 -99, and its 406, indication renal tube issues. we power on with love and care.. and lots of pills... and aussie dancing, he loves to wiggle dance with me
