I totally agree with Liz. When Minnie was in so much pain and her lymph node was a little larger than an almond I just knew it was going to be cancer and it ended up just being an infection. Hang in there! The best case scenarios are easy fixes and even the worst case scenarios should be treatable. You guys and Emma WILL get through this. You have the whole Lair rooting for you.

She continues to stay strong and fight this battle. When we were watching TV she reached out and grabbed my hand. I burst into tears.

Oh no! I haven't been on here much since the changes and when I am on...I seem to be missing tons. I just saw this thread and my heart goes out to you, Mark and Emma.
This photo above made me have tears in my eyes. Please hang in there and I wish you all nothing but the best. Emma has to be ok. Liam has his eye on her (he told me the other day when he became SOTM).
My prayers and nothing but positive thoughts are being sent your way right now. Please let me find good news when you post next time. Hugs to you all.

Oh God! Just seeing this now. I pray that Emma comes through whatever this turns out to be just fine. I will be praying hard for her and you guys. Her little paw holding your hand really touched my heart. Come on Emma Leigh, you can beat this thing!

Oh, and hooray for poop!

We got a call back from the vet today and they confirmed the aspiration came back as lymphoma cancer

I’m numb right now, but know that we have a plan of action. We are going to move forward with the blood transfusion and surgery. They plan to remove the mass and biopsy anything else they find that looks out of place.

Once she has healed a bit from her surgery, they are going to start her on chemotherapy. As far as prognosis, they said it could be 6 months, or it could be a year or more, it all depends on how she reacts to the treatment and chemo.

We are going to be aggressive with her treatment as long as her quality of life is not majorly impacted. We have a rough time ahead of us and I appreciate all the love and support the Lair has given and will continue to give.

I have been checking all day to see the results. I am sorry to hear that it is cancer but that there is an option for treatment. We will keep you all and Emma in our minds and hearts. Keep the Emma pics coming!

Oh god I am so sorry to read all of this, I have been working last 3 days so not been on here at all. (Funnily enough I am a nurse on an oncology ward). I am sending you all lots of love and prayers that little Emma is strong enough for chemo and she responds well. Tough times ahead but with your love she will have the best life she can have. Stay strong, lots of love from me

You have a whole Lair that will stay behind you and help you through the hardest days as you help Emma through hers while she is going through her procedure and treatments. No room for negative thoughts...just looking forward to smooth sailing for Emma Leigh!!!

I am sorry. I had hoped for a different diagnosis, but I am glad that there is a treatment plan.
Please know that I will continue to pray for sweet little Emma and for you folks as you deal with her treatments.
I pray that she responds well to the treatments and can be happy and comfortable.

Not the news we were all praying for but she’s a strong girl and she has the best parents any cat could ask for so she’s lucky for that. Now we’ll be hoping for great reactions to treatment!

They just confirmed that her red blood cells are not reproducing so they are also going to have to do a bone marrow biopsy tomorrow. She is schedule first thing in the morning, but will be in the hospital over the weekend at least.

Small update: So since Tuesday, Emma has not pooped and we got poop today :woot::woot: I was sooo excited when Mark messaged me this info as this was one of the concerns since the mass is on her intestine.

Got to count your Blessings with the little steps! I will keep you guys posted as I get more information!

Hmmm makes me wonder or she ate something, remember when my Hairy ate that small plastic screw cover??? Maybe thats the mass....... he had a mass looking too, it was POop around the plastic.. LOL But you couldnt make out he plastic.
I really hope thats what it was !!!! Take the Poop put it in a plastic bag with water and wash it ... i almost missed my plastic thingy but i double washed the poop ! Its worth a shot .
