Hi for those of you with experience using probiotics could you please post some information here?

What probiotic brands have you tried?
How often did you probiotics to your cat?
What were the results from giving probiotics to your cat? Why were you giving probiotics to your cat?
How long did you give probiotics to your cat?

We have had to have a couple of cats on Probiotics over the years

after some intestinal issues. I still have some on hand with the directions etc for you to see. Usually we have had success after a week or so. @pussiette hoping your baby’s tummy gets straightened out quickly.

Upset stomach and all cleared up quickly on it. What are your experiencing ?

We've also used the Fortiflora with good results for a shortlived stomach upset of Rankle's.

I personally use this on recommendation from Toly’s breeder. It helped a lot with his adjusting system when he first came home.

Vet prescribed this brand which she is tolerant to so far second time we’ve tried this the first time was with a combination of Metronidazole this time it’s the probiotics only. I note it only has one type of probiotic strain.

So happy to see this! I started reading up on bowel incontinence and saw that is usually falls into 2 categories. Hopefully if you can get that tummy settled you will not have the incontinence issue…fingers crossed. So happy to hear the probiotics are working.

Still on twice daily since Saturday and small meals however stools are now becoming wet again. Speaking to the vet today. This is very tiring and distressing.

is it everytime some looseness?. I know here on poo patrol each poop wont be perfect much like humans.

It’s not good @Yoda mom. Hugs. Many accidents on carpet etc and now vomit.

I had a chat with the vet, next steps from tomorrow:

1. Another full health check and profile for baseline parameters
2. Ultrasound
3. Continues probiotics
4. May start Vitamin B supplement
5. Weight loss to be confirmed
6. Might start prednisolone
7. Continue RC wet gastrointestinal
8. Further investigations for bowel leakage / incontinence

Owning Sphynx is not easy.

just my 2 cents with my crew, i found keeping it simple helped.. I feed a lower protein food (down from 45%) and all improved. before it was loose bloody stools.

Can I know how much you feed and how often with this??
My 2 + yr old boy always has very loose stools on and off. Just when I tot they were finally much better with a new probiotics I fed. He was recently triggered again and it's very watery the probiotics plus another probiotics didn't help. So want to try other brands as he is still well and pooping same number of times a day. Just watery. TIA

Sorry you are still struggling with this. With both of them having issues, m starting to wonder if it’s a parasite or bacteria or something.

Only one cat has issues and the diagnostics confirmed IBD.
