Hi Everyone,
I was wondering what could be wrong with my little Belzy. She has never thrown up before, but this morning she woke me up twice to her throwing up. She didn't throw up anything, just clear fluid, and it was kind of white on top (like spit bubbles). Has anyone had this problem before? She has been eating, drinking, playing like normal all day. Could it just be an upset stomach? I thought everything might be okay since she hasn't gotten sick since this morning, but she just got sick again about 20 min ago. If anyone has any advice that would be great. I might take her to the vet tomorrow after work if she continues getting sick. Thank you for any help.

I had a boxer that used to throw up like that. I always found he did it when he drank too much water too fast.  I'm not sure if cats can drink too much water like a dog. Maybe she was extra thirsty and drank more than usual. Hope she feels better soon!

I agree with everyone else...as long as she doesnt continue to vomit....and is eating and drinking and acting normal, I wouldnt worry.

More vomiting or lethargy, or not eating/drinking and bring her to the vet asap.

Do you have a hairy cat as well? Maybe she is trying to get rid of a hairball?

Hope she feels better soon!

Thank you for the advice everyone. I think she's feeling better though
I got off work this evening and came home and she's acting like normal running around causing trouble. I found a little piece of plastic in her vomit pile from last night. I'm sure she got into some plastic or something like that.. She is way too in love with plastic wrappers and I think one of my roommates may have left a piece on the ground or something.. That's what I've decided but I'll continue to keep an eye on her just incase.

I agree with the others, see a vet if she continues to vomit, but otherwise she'll probably be fine!

Yes be very careful with plastics and strings. They can be very dangerous. My boyfriend left a sewing box open last year after I went to bed. The next morning my Siamese had thread out on the floor and started vomiting a little that day. He was still eating and very active. He never vomits though, so the next day I took him to the vet. They didn't feel anything wrong in his belly and he didn't seem painful and hadn't vomited at all that day. The next day was thanksgiving and he started vomiting a little again. I was very worried so I took his food away and he seemed fine. The next morning I took him back to the vet again, and they did an ultrasound and sure enough he had slight bunching in his intestines and went straight to emergency surgery. They had to cut into his stomach and into his intestines in 6 places to get all the string out. He had only vomited a total of like 5 times and was still eating and active, but it could have killed him. Every year we see a ton of foreign bodies in animals, but in cats its usually string, plastic (including plastic bags) and tinsel from Xmas tress. Now I make sure none of his toys etc have anything he can swallow. Hope your baby does well! keep us updated!

Agree with the above, might have eaten a piece of string, or plastic and is trying to get it to come up and nothing else in stomach. I would watch him/her to make sure they continue to eat or drink, and check to see if he throws up something inedible, like a string or plastic. Moses will do this if he eats omething like twine or grass and will continue until he actually gets up whatever he ate.

Last week Frodo also had vomited the foamy stuff. I found it when I got back home and inspected it carefully for any items, didn`t find anything though. It happened only once so I am not very worried.
Let`s hope that the piece of plastic you`ve found was the only one.
