seems my boy has found a favourite spot... question is as it doesn't look overly comfortable (but then yet again I am human it may be for him lol) what could I put there that wouldn't raise him up so I can't see screen properly but that will make it comfortable for him and is small? he does appear to be totally content as is.. so perhaps its just me lol

Well you could just put a blanket there or get one of these:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003ZYF1SE/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1347540270&sr=8-1"]K&H Self-Warming Pet Crate Pad, 14-Inch by 22-Inch, Gray:Amazon:pet Supplies@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41S0U5Ku8TL.@@AMEPARAM@@41S0U5Ku8TL[/ame]

Is there warm air coming out of your computer monitor? That's my guess as to why he picked there. Sealy and now Hadyn love to lay in front of the fridge for the same reason. I've bought 2 of those self warming crate pads, one for Sealy and Hadyn for in front of the fridge and one for my elderly dsh who likes to sleep on top of the dryer.

That not a bad idea thanks :) will look he has tried a few time to actually get onto the laptop keys (cause I use a proper keyboard plugged into the laptop which sits to the side) so I think by the screen has then taken second place as the now favourite :)

Well at least he gave up on the keys, Sealy thought his place was on the keys for the first 5 or 6 months! Now he knows better, but I've also learned to shut my laptop when I'm not there so I've also removed the temptation :)

Get a baby blanket!!! That is pretty much all that I buy Akali, they are small, made super super soft, and are not that expensive. I bought her a beautiful and soft elephant blanket at Ross for 8ish bucks and she LOVES it, Plus its not so big that it will block you screen, and if you fold it in half, it wont cover your keys. :ThumbsUp:

oh he is so cute! Fern loves sleeping on my laptop keyboard

I wouldn't mind my baby sleeping on it as I use a normal keyboard plugged into it and a normal big screen... however even though it set to the normal keyboard and screen if he lies on it lol.. everything goes hey wire lol

I went to the fabric store and got a yard of fleece and then cut it into large rectangles for time like these!

The fleece doesn't fray so all you have to do is cut it up.

I second the baby blanket...what about an old tshirt or maybe sweater that has your smell to comfort him when you are not home :)

I too would recommend a crate pad, you can buy all sorts at the pet stores, that way you dont have to wait for it to arrive. I have crate pads and fleece blankets set in front of all of my heating vets similar to what Sealy's mom does with the fridge since they love the heating vents in the winter. They stay in the habit of sleeping there all summer too.

As far as laptops, I have mine closed and hooked up like a regular PC and its literally like musical chairs as night with the two of them as to who gets to sit on top of it! They come p and chase one another off after about 15 min somthe other can have a turn. I have however sucessfully trained them tonthe difference between my work laptops and personal laptops. They are NOT allowed to sit on my work issued laptop since they have a habit of changing folder names, deleting files, etc. the last thing I need to have is my cat changing the text to "zzzzzzhhhhhhhhhhttttttt//////////////!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!444444444444444444" when i am trying to place a heart somewhere! Or accepting a bad kidney on my behalf by hitting the yes button!!! So personal laptop yes (nokeyoard tho), work laptop NOT AT ALL.

The fleece doesn't fray so all you have to do is cut it up.

Also, if you cut "fringe" on three sides of the fleece and cut another rectangle and do the same, you can tie them together to make a pouch for kitty. They do love to burrow!
