We feed our dog on raw, we get a mix from our butchers of meat offcuts, fat, offal, heart & liver.

She has it cooked & whole, as in we don't cut it down she works at it herself, we also give other veg etc. at times to make sure she's getting everything she needs.

She also gets RAW bones from the butcher

How can we get our sphynx onto this raw meat diet?
Will this mix of offal and oragans be ok for her? does she need anything else?
Should she have the meat products cooked or not?

Is there a benefit to having sphynx on raw? or is there not much point switching her over, as I don't want to do it if its going to disagree with her

We have all 3 of our Sphynx on RAW and our dog.

You must always make sure the Ca ratio is correct (muscle meat/bone). A chicken quarter is the perfect example of the correct ratio. The entire meal must consist of 10% organ meat. You need a little fiber in there (we use pumpkin for our own animals and the meals we make for our company). Half a small can of pumpkin per 10lbs of Ca.

We ALWAYS roughly grind. Several reasons - raw meat is dangerous, the % of salmonella and e-coli in raw meat is HIGH. I can't have my animals dragging it around the floor or using their paws to hold it. This is dangerous not only to us as humans, but also to themselves. Secondly, obstructions from bone fragments and tooth damage is high from whole bones. It is also easier to feed the correct amount. A kitten should have around 9-10% of its body weight and an adult cat around 2-3%. It is easy to over feed.

The benefits are amazing! My smelly bum Sphynx babies poo once every 24-36hrs and it is small, hard and NO SMELL!!!! We also get very few eye boogers, and much reduced ear and nail gloop.

The first day or so she may have a little runny poo, put a teaspoon on pumpkin on her food, this will help.

I am going to make a post shortly on making RAW. We make it in bulk for our own animals when we do it for our company. I usually make about a month worth at a time, weigh out into ziplock bags, press flat and freeze. This way they take up very little space int he freezer.

NEVER EVER cook the meat! Also, don't give it cold out of the fridge, bring it to room temp first.

Please let me know if I can be of any help. We had to do a lot of research prior to opening our business including sending off meals samples to the FDA for analysis to make sure the nutritional value of the meal was correct.

Many people think feeding raw is throwing a few bones here and there, but it isn't. If you do not do it correctly you will harm your animal in many different ways - weak and fractured bones and teeth, organ failures... it is EASY, but important to get the Ca ratios correct.
