Hi all. Well like the title states I'm after a RAW recipe for my Sphynx's so I can go to my butcher (finally found one who will accommodate to my needs) with a list of what I need and he will order and supply. He will also ground whole chickens for me (bless him :SweetAngel2: everyone else has point blank refused )
Enough to feed my 2 babies for a month would be great, also if I need to get any supplements. Thanks in advance

I like better in the raw. Its a mix that you mix any meat with and it has everything your cats need.
Sorry that's the best I can do. I would not trust myself to do it without a mix of some sort. I have heard if you ground the ENTIRE animal. organs feathers and all. it would get what you neeed in there, but I don't grind myself so...

Better in the Raw is also my favorite! It is a mix that has everything your cat needs. So I buy that powder, some ground chicken or turkey, and then follow the recipe which requires water and that is it. It is so simple to follow and its a great price. I highly recommend it

i as well do BitR, but i dont think You will get that in Australia.
I belive its 80% Meat, 5 % Organs , 5% Bones , and other stuff I hope someone who does the complete grind raw diet will chime in.
I know you need to add Fishoil , Taurine and other Vitamins I just dont know how much and i dont want to lead you on . Maybe you find a post in the Raw section that states all of the "Mix". I am looking right now too , because i just saw it not too long ago.

This is the best recipe I have found:
It comes from Mark Pennington of Mystere Bengals:
Mark Pennington [[email protected]]

Raw Recipe:
I use the following ratio when making our raw:
2/3 of the total mix should be chicken, bones and all (uncooked)
Of the 2/3 chicken, 1/3 of that should be organ meats such as chicken livers and chicken gizzards, hearts
1/3 of the mix should be beef, we use beef stew meat (actual amts/weight of each is up to you depending on how much you want to make, we use 10 whole chickens, and
about 6lbs of the stew meat and that makes about 8-10 gallons of mix and feeds all our cats for about 3 months)
2 small containers of plain yogurt, non flavored
2-4 jars of squash baby food
1 can of 100% pure pumpkin
Kitty Bloom – we add about ¼ tsp per serving when serving the food. (Kitty Bloom is a vitamin/mineral supplement)

I would change the beef to another meat--like rabbit if available. Beef often makes them vomit.
Here is the link to their site--they have excellent videos that show you what to do, how to store it, etc. It's a great site. Mystre's Bengals - Making a Raw Diet

You can feed fish, but no more than once a week. Avoid pork. Try to stick to meats they would eat in a natural diet. Sometimes leave bigger chunks in the ground food, as the chewing of the flesh cleans their teeth, strengthens the jaw, and is generally good for them. Move toward giving them a whole leg, or a small bird--the idea is to move toward what they would do in the wild.

If you can have a butcher grind the whole animal, you should have the right meat/organ/bone ratio as it is how nature intended it to be. Otherwise, stick to a proven recipe.

Good luck,
Susi

I do 5 lbs ground rabbit, organs, bones, etc. I add an extra pound of ground rabbit organs just for safe keeping. I also chop up a cup or two of chicken livers real fine that I add to the mix. Then I add Alnutrin nutritional supplements. Then I freeze in icecube trays. They also get treats occasionally. They love whole mice.

Your right we can't get better in the raw here. There isn't much in the way of cat specific supplements at all unless bought separately in a health food store which supplies all vitamins etc.

Should I put my 10 week old straight onto raw or slowly transition her?

transition time ... if they come from the Breeder eating Raw, no transition needed.
If they are on can, do half can half raw portions for bout a week or more and slowly take the can away.
I did mine cold turkey , since both my Cats had very runny poo and one was puking all the time and they did Great on it and loved it from the get go.
