At this point in time feeding a completely raw diet isn't practical for us and while the cats like their dry food they really love raw meat. Does anyone feed dry food and give raw snacks/treats? Chicken hearts, livers, and necks are readily available at the market near me but I'm not sure how often is too often or how much is too much since it's not part of a raw meal ratio. Any thoughts?

I'm pretty new to raw feeding, and I feed completely raw. But I do know that you should wait 4 hours or so between feeding dry and raw due to their different absorbent rate. I give my dogs cHicken feet sometimes for treat. I wouldn't think you would need to worry about the ratios if you are only giving the occasional snack or treat.

Thanks. I had read about not feeding raw and dry at the same time because of the difference in digestion time. They were eating raw then I started switching them over to dry by taking their dry food up after lunch and giving a raw late dinner. Their tummies were upset during the switch but now they've gotten back to normal. I just feel bad because they love the raw so much. I've been nervous to start giving them occasional chicken parts but I guess I'll give it a shot and see what happens!
