Raw, what a blessing

My Pinkz has had diarrhea off and on for a year, lately it got to be all the time and with all the testing we had done, I was almost ready to let him go. The Vet was suggesting exploratory surgery but my hubby and I balked at that (the expense, the fact that Pinkz was so thin and the fact that it could be inconclusive - we had tried all the meds for the most common problems).
The Vet saw our distress and made one last suggestion....she would contact a GI specialist at Texas A&M....that night I got the call - put him on raw diet immediately!!!
It took a day of research, but we put him on RadCat-Lamb right away and it has literally cured him!! I mean, right away. His poop was firm from the beginning and has gotten better and better for the last 5 weeks. And no stink....his farts and poop were awful before and now you don't even notice. I tried it on the other 2 cats, but they vomited it right up....need to transition them gradually I think. It's just so awesome that it was as simple as that. Halleluah

I just had almost exactly the same experience. Frida just turned a year old and has had the runs on and off since I brought her home. I switched her to a raw diet and instantly the problem was gone. No more smelly poo or unhappy kitty. She loves her new diet

I find raw for me is cheaper. I spend around 40$ per month instead of $80 on wellness wet food. I go to the butcher for meat though and I understand that is cheaper than a pre prepared raw from the pet store. Also bone in raw is super good for the teeth. My sis just spent $450 on getting her boys teeth cleaned. Frida is only a little younger and had no problems at her checkup.

I have 2 cats. I can feed chicken for about $40 per month, grade A from the local butcher, with bone and organs. At the other end of the spectrum is rabbit which is more like $140 if that's the only thing I fed. You can control how much you spend by the mix. Raw doesn't have to be expensive.

The breed of rabbit makes a difference and IDK how many people realize that. The cheaper breeds have a higher % of bone and less flesh. When you see whole ground rabbit from different breeds the difference is nothing short of startling.

Needless to say the calcium to phosphorus ratio is critical in a cat's diet so I would not feed that bony rabbit as is. That's to say nothing about constipation. I would take out some bones. So are you really saving by buying the cheaper rabbit......

I'm amazed and happy to see the difference in 5 weeks and that's without how much happier your sphynx is feeling !! Mine coming next week and I've already done his raw food and its in the freezer your photo's have underlined how important RAW is!!

I'm transitioning to raw and I think it'll end up costing me what I pay now for Wellness Grain Free dry good. I spend about 50$ a month on dry food.
