RIP Beans

Hi everyone,

Thought i'd update you all on my furry baby Beans,
Following on from my previous thread this is whats happened since.

Beans came home Tuesday night but had to go back to the vet on Wednesday morning to see any progress he had made, after having a very good and hopeful night back home, on the journey to the vets he laid on his side and started panting, his eyes were non reactive and he looked very poorly. Upon arriving at the vets the vet said his lungs had deteriorated but he was still hopeful that they could bring him around.

He stayed in overnight in an oxygen tent for two days, he was brought home last night (Friday) and as soon as he came home we knew something was terribly wrong with him. He was rushed back to the vets and died on the table before we or the vet could do anything. He was breathing heavily, and his poor little lungs couldn't take it anymore

He died before he could be humanely put to sleep which kills me. We did all we could and spent a lot of money on trying everything we could.

This should happen to a cat thats a year and a half old!

Anyway I just wanted to thank everybody on here for their support.

My heart goes out to you. The loss of our Persian Oscar was almost more than we could bear. My only hope is to some day find a Sphynx to fill my heart with joy again. The prospect of losing another cat is what makes me so wary of getting another. Oscar lived to a ripe old age and every day spent with him was a joy. Your beans knows you loved him. He's hanging out waiting for you in that better place beyond.

Oh....it pains me so to write to the people who have lost a loved one.....there is so little to be done to help. I can tell you I am horribly sorry--I am. I can tell you my prayers are sent your way--they are. I can tell you Beans is in a better place, with no more pain, where he can breathe free--he is. But I can't put my arms around you and hug you....I can't cry with you....all I can do is trust that you know we all care. Beans knew he was loved--you tried so hard to make him well. He knows that....and bless you for trying so hard to heal him. He had a good home with you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how you feel though, about him dying on his own, as we lost our Squeakers in a similar situation, but at least you were with him. Beans knows you did everything you could for him. He's whole and breathing fine as he's running and playing at the Rainbow Bridge. ::HUGS::

I am so sad to hear about poor Beans! Did you by any chance do a post mortem to find out what caused his illness? My heart goes out to you. I know how hard it is to lost a pet and I am sorry you are feeling so badly about no being able to help him cross over to Rainbow Bridge. I would REALLY dearly love to run a post mortem on him, however having already had a vet bill of over £1000 or $1511 we simply cannot afford to run one, which is a real shame Thank you so much for your support

I am so very sorry for your loss of Beans RIP.

We lost our snowshoe siamese at only 3 years old. We adopted her at 10 weeks old and she suddenly just stopped eating. We were in and out of the vets office for 3 months fighting for her. She was diagnosed with Hipatic Lipidosis (Fatty liver disease). There is no known cause or cure. All that is really known is the cat stops eating whether from sickness or stress or something else, the fat builds up in the liver and poisons the cat's system. The only way for them to recover is for them to start eating again and she would be fine one week, and then look like she was on her last lap the next. She finally lost her fight and I found her already passed one night when I came home from work. It is the worst feeling when it is sudden and unexpected.

I feel for you and I am again sorry for your loss
