We got Cherokee about 2 years ago, he was skin and bones. We were told he was 20, but later found out he was 25+,which didn't matter to us, FIL wanted something to baby, and he was one of 2. But Cherokee was the special one. He needed the most help. BJ, was skinny, but not near as bad. These 2 ad been together for 10 years or so.
Friday morning poor Cherokee choked and aspirated on is breakfast. Vet said there as little we could do t his age. Jut make him comfortable. Poor baby did tonight. He was happy, he ate supper (something he had not done since Friday). But 3 hours later died in his stall. My 16 yr old heard what she thought was kicking in the stall, so she called my FIL to go with her to the barn (In the back yard, but I have not fixed the light yet). She found him in his stall. How do you get that picture out of a 16 yr olds mind? Not only that, but today was my first day at work, so she was alone at or hours until I got home.
