Hi guys Luna needs a serious change of diet, recently she's been having what I classify as volcano poops, I'm switching her to royal canine wet and dry, which one do I go for? The sphynx one isn't available here even tho I've called just about every pet shop in my state no one has it, so which type is best? If anyone on here is willing to sell me some sphynx royal canin or if anyone knows where I can order it online to be shipped to Australia plz let me know.

Thanks guys, - Beck & Luna

In the US there is a diet called Special 33 and it is for sensitive tummies. Mine also like the Siamese breed food. Hope this helps

AW: Royal canin, which one?

Why dry food? It's so bad for health.
And royal canin is.... hmmmm... ****. ^^

So you better watch out for good wet food, with a lot of meat in it.

And without sugar and cereals.

A lot of our members who don't feed raw feed a mixture of dry and wet. There is nothing wrong with dry food. Wet is used to increase their water intake

Royal Canin in my opinion is one of the best out there

Lunasmum, I feed Graddy and Hugo the Royal Canin Fit. And the INSTINCTIVE wet food. The Sphynx variety is available in the uk. Would it be possible for you to order from there?

So, it's your cat. But dry food like royal canin is full of sugar and cereals. That's not healthy. It can make cats ill.

Please don't think I just want to criticize you. I will help.

the decision is only yours :)

I know you're not criticizing me but I'm letting you know respectfully. I don't need your help. My breeder and many other members on here feed this good quality food and there is very little that would make me change my mind and no it's not filled with sugar and cereals. That makes absolutely no sense??? Why would we feed our cats cereals and sugar? There is no decision that needs to be made.

I've emailed a few stores/suppliers in the uk and Canada hopefully someone will be willing to ship me some, I've decided on royal canin after much research, she's currently on whiskers wet food and supercoat dry food but has stool issues frequently and seems like she's always hungry, so I need a good dry food she can snack on thru the day to keep her satisfied without the explosive stools, royal canine appears to be good for that particular issue, but the sugar and cereal thing? I have no idea what that's about lol

Raw food I'm not partial to simply coz I don't trust raw meat for myself so won't feed it to my cat either, one of my quirks I suppose :p

That's good. I hope you can get it mailed to you and if you can't just try a variety of the other flavours. You can't go wrong. I have no idea what the cereal and sugars or even dry food is about but believe me when I say Graddy and Hugo have perfect poos  we've never had poop foot and never any digestive issues. So for these reasons alone I am an avid promoter of royal Canin.

Oh myyyyy GAHHHH!! poor girl. She had explosive poops and then tracked them out. :Dizzy:
Indeed a change is needed. Could you ask for samples maybe? See which suits her more. I once had to buy a bad of sensitive because our usual-Fit was finished and it was the only time Graddy's poos were sorta soft and not the usual hard worms he does. As much as its a good brand there may be one or two ingredients that could still upset her stomach.

They have in house vets at my local store I might ask if I can speak with them is get samples but any change in diet will give her the runs for a day or 2, might start with the digestive one, if that's no good ill try the fit and if that fails I goto the Siamese... If that doesn't work she's gunna be renamed Luna Von poopy pants

It is just a fact, that dry food can destroy blister and nouns.
And it's a fact, that the cat is a carnivore - not a chicken :D

So in MY opinion, raw food is the best that I (!) Can feed MY cats. :):):)

That's fine I've got no problems with owners feeding raw food, it's just not for my girl, she loves the crunching noises and texture of dry food, but its all down to personal choice.

Will do, I considered science diet but at the shelter I volunteer at we feed the cats on it and a lot don't like it and we end up giving them other brands, I think it might be a bit tasteless, ill try to get a sample tho, see what she thinks

How about a food made ONLY for the SPHYNX cat. Royal Canin make it. Its brilliant. Google it!! Until then they also make a Gastro Intestinal variety wet and dry which sorted my 2 cats out with their wet poop and took 5 days. Its available online at a few different websites and cheaper than buying from vets. Good luck!!

The gastro intestinal R C Worked brilliantly for my 2 as I had tried quite a few different ones. Everything seemed to upset their tummies. Even treats upset them. The vet said I could even keep them on the Gastro stuff indefinitely if I needed but as soon as the RC 33 Sphynx stuff arrived here in UK I changed them over and never looked back.
Never have I been so obsessed with POOP ha ha.

Hopefully the sphynx one will be available here soon, I've emailed stores in the uk and Canada asking if they will ship to me, hopefully one of them does

I am making the transition over to Royal Canin right now too and my girl LOVES it. I really wanted to keep her on Orijen/Acana but a vet told me that seaweed (which is in both of those brands) can contribute to thyroid problems in cats. After losing one cat to thyroid issues I am scared :(.

I'm feeding Kitten 36 with Kitten Instinctive canned. I'll probably move to Sphynx 33 when she's old enough. Or one of the digestive ones depending on her gut.. she's been find in that department though.

Have you tried ordering Sphynx 33 from Petsmart? They carry it.

ive bought a bag of dry and 3 boxes of wet royal canin sensible/sensitive, she seems to love the dry food, ive only given her a handful mixed with her regular dry food so its not a big shock to her system, heres hoping within the next week she starts having normal poos again :)
