My heart is breaking for you. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Please don't blame yourself. Despite our best efforts, accidents will happen. Kojak once darted out the front door when my husband was going out. My husband was able to grab him and bring him back in, but the experience terrified me. I could have easily been in your place. I pray that you are able to forgive yourself and find some peace.

I cannot tell you how much your kind words and thoughts mean to me. It helps so much to be able to talk to other folks about this. What incredible friends you all are! I have been crying (in a good way?) while reading all your messages of condolences and sympathy. I am glad that Cookie's message was to make sure that we all just improve our security that much more because our Sphynxes are escape artists.
