Hi all,

I am devastated to say I need to re-home my 7 year old elf sphynx. she has been my best friend and my shadow from the moment I brought her home as a tiny kitten. I have not spent one night away from her since bringing her into my home from the time she was 2-3 months old. She is my first cat ever & I always wanted a sphynx. I am incredibly allergic to cats, but at the time I was under the impression sphynx cats were hypoallergenic. Over the years my allergies have progressed, I told myself my body would adjust and that I could take allergy medicine and also get allergy shots. Unfortunately, this has not been the case and despite my efforts it’s gotten to the point where I am now having trouble breathing as a result. This has been really really devastating for my partner and I. This cat is our entire world and I’m just at such a loss. I was hoping a family member or close friend could watch her for me until we got a larger place, but that didn’t end up panning out how I hoped it would. This has been a topic my partner and I have been agonizing and arguing about for months.

My cat is named Nibiru & she just turned 7 years ole. She was born on 9/1/2018. She is a huge love bug, but she does have some quirks. She constantly sucks her tail, as I’ve been told that is something sphynx cats in particular will do. It seems to be a self soothing mechanism she’s been doing since she was about 3 months old. She currently has a little wound on her tail that I’ve continually tried to treat, it starts to get a lot better— but as a result of her tail sucking it ends up prolonging the healing process quite a bit. She’s snuggly and very talkative when she’s comfortable with you. Overall in great health, but she does need to be with someone who will care for her, give her their time and treat her like the princess she is. She is fine with dogs, as long as they aren’t aggressive. She has not been around any cats, so I can’t say how she will do there, I think she would do better as the only cat, but ideally she needs to be with someone who has experience with the breed. She is sneaky and loves to steal food if given a chance, so she needs someone who will stay on top of making sure they aren’t leaving things out for her to get into. Due to her tail sucking, I do not use clay litter (grass seed ideally or maybe walnut etc.) as the litter will get stuck to her tail. She really is the coolest cat ever and deserves the eorkd.

Fee $250

This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do after nearly 7 years together. If someone with experience and love to give can give my girl a good and comfortable life, please get in touch with me. This is absolutely gut wrenching.

Thank you for your time ❤️

I’ve attached a video and some photos below, incase you need more or are unable to see them for some reason, please feel free to reach out.
Hi there, I’m interested in sweet Nibiru but can’t seem to find the photos. Could you send me some?

I have an doggo Belle (13 yo) and a home in need of a new family member!

Thanks for reaching out. Wasn’t sure how this worked. Just thought I was supposed to reply to threads if someone was looking to rehome!

It's been a while...have you found a good fit yet? I can only imagine how hard of a decision this is to make, I currently have one and lost my boy over Thanksgiving to HCM after thousands of dollars, meds and dr visits attempting to prolong his life. My girl sphynx, as well as myself have been grieving and would love to fill our home and hearts with your precious baby's love. We live in Baltimore county and would offer an open adoption, so you can come by and visit any time and I'll send videos and pics often if you want! Please message me if she is still available would love to chat!

Hi! I’m located in Silver Spring, MD, so just a short drive away! My partner and I are looking to adopt a sphynx cat into our home. We currently have one donskoy sphynx named Ekaterina who is going to be 12 this year, although she acts quite spry. We also have a small chihuahua/maltese/terrier mix. Shes reactive to other dogs, but loves cats. The two of them snuggle up and get along well.

If you’re still looking for a home, please consider us! You can message me or email me at [email protected].
