When I first joined, a few members suggested the SmartCat Cat Climber to me! I am looking to add some kind of cat ladder to the back of our kitchen wall to help Kenzo climb back down. I specifically remember the Cat Climber suggested by multiple Lairians, however on Amazon it only has 3 stars. The general complaint is that it bows in the middle when jumped on.

Can anyone who has used this provide more insight? I’d rather trust others here than unknown Amazon consumers. Thank you!

@Monica This is by far a fav of the quad squad

@Catzzzmeow may chime in with her quad squad review of it too

Follow the mounting to door instructions - some of the pics

I found online had it ups down down lol really look at which bracket goes on the top amd bottom

Basically it's on tension , no screws needed
However with my stealth quad squad romping on it at one time ,
. I folded a hand towels behind the center **
It helped decrease the bounce noise when they are romping on it

It's been going strong for years with lots and lots of use!
I mean crazy amount - the love to meet n greet on it for treats too!

They love to rub on the sisal like scratching material on it
Then roll like a crocodile on it and kick the sisal like material

I also still thought of mounting one on a wall ! I think it could be done with some tools amd creativity

I also used it to train meet n greets as to not bolt out the door !
I do have it on a white 6 panel door as shown

We ordered one, however we screwed ours directly into the wall rather then hang it over a door. Now that I’m looking at the picture of you posted, it looks much easier to climb then ours is. It seems that on ours the shelves don’t stick our far enough, so that when my boys try and get down, there isn’t enough room and they end up nose diving to the floor instead! I’ve very much been considering getting one of the 4 foot horizontal sisal wall scratchers that catastrophic creations makes, to attach next to ours to help climbing up/down.

@Bailey21 , perhaps mounted upside down?
I did this when I got it first on my door then stood bsck and said oops I put it on upside down

You could take it down and remount it and try it :)

Please share what you used to mount to wall! Love it !
Lag bolts ?

@Yoda mom the bottom part is the one that's spring loaded right? Well, I hope so. Otherwise I do have it upside down!

The very top one is a lag bolt. The other 3 screws used are 4" drywall screws, as I wanted something longer to be extra safe that it was very secured to the wall. Its not going anywhere now. Each one we also used a washer. It doesn't even budge :) We don't have many doors in our house that we could've hung it on, so that's why I opted to try and see if the heavy thing could hang. Voila!

Ours love it!!!! So much we are on our second one lol. Our only issue is that Jouët tears the heck out of the material that covers the shelves. I wish it was covered with real carpeting. I might have to see if I can recover them because they are getting really ratty again.

Thank you all for the reviews! I rather like it, so I was hoping others did too!

@Bailey21 the nose-diving issue was also my concern. Kenzo is very clumsy, and my main purpose for the Climber is to help him down. From the pics, yours does appear different. Maybe it’s just lighting, or maybe it’s a different manufacturer? @Yoda mom @Catzzzmeow Can y’all confirm she hung it the right direction, with the spring loaded end on the bottom?

My only thing is, even if it was upside down (which I don't think it is as I was pretty meticulous with the instructions, it was going to be holding my babies!!) that even if I flipped it, the shelves themselves cannot be moved any more left or right. I read a lot of comments on Youtube, and amazon where I bought it from of people complaining that the instructions are for their old design. Mine actually came with these weird half moon thingys that get bolted to one another. It was a very strange way to install in my opinion, and very confusing as the instructions never got updated to use the half moons rather than the squares they show in the video. .

I still love the climber I just wish the shelves were more offset from each other, since my fat bottom girl Yoda is SO big :ROFLMAO:

Now you've got me wondering if I could just bolt/drill the shelves into the main unit myself to adjust them and heck with those half moons. Probably not as its made of particle board.

Now you have me all wanting to get another one to screw to the wall :)
Thanks for the great pics @Shmeeps, @Bailey21
Thanks for letting me know about the new design too
I hope you call the company and ask them to update the instruction video :)

@Monica LOLOL oh no!!!! I've gotten so used to referring to Yoda as my "fat bottom girl" because I always sing that song by Queen when I see him, especially after he got lost and he was referred to as " a mother who just recently had kittens" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Whoops!!

Sorry for the excitement/confusion. Yoda is in fact a boy!! :X3: (but my fat bottom girl)

@Yoda mom I second you getting a second for going right on the wall, especially since your crew loves it so much! :) I actually hadn't thought of calling them to ask they update their video, thanks for the suggestion! I'll attach a photo of the other 3 screws holding it in (4 holding it on in total) I actually managed to get it on sale on Amazon for $114 which if I remember correctly was cheaper than anything else I could find at the time. They still have 3 more in stock at that price (y)

@Bailey21 ohhh ok. I thought he was a boy! I was about to question my whole last few months. :ROFLMAO: I was about to feel really bad about referencing Yoda as a him & he all that time lol. Ps. I LOVE that he was advertised as a post-pregnancy mama. :p:LOL::LOL::LOL: That’s now my second favorite thing about him... the first being the FUPA, of course!
