Smaug is now home and is off of IV fluids. He will be back at the vet on Monday for a recheck. He still isnt back to normal but is in a much better state than he was a few days ago. I really thought the he was dying. He had dull eyes, his breathing was watery, and he only weighed 6 lbs (Smaug is usually a 11.6 # kitty). Today he weighs 7.5# and looks and sounds so much better. He even purred for a few seconds today and I almost cried. That was a sound that I haven't heard in so long. It will still be a long road to recovery however things are much more positive.

Nice to see Smaug has started to gain weight. There is usually a point in re overnight hat everything kicks in and smooth sailing from there.

Starting to gain weight again is a good sign! Happy to hear Smaug is on the way to recover. In a few weeks he will be his old self.
The last days I was very worried about the health of Toa, so I really feel for you being so worried about Smaug! Hopefully you can be reliefed a bit more everyday.

Today was Smaug's first day alone. I checked on him at lunch and he was fine. I recently got home to find him stuck by his hind legs on my recliner. He was screaming and yowling in pain when I released him. He was also ice cold. Curently he is wrapped up in a heated blanket. Whenever he is moved he screams. I really hope he is OK. He was almost completely healed. I'm so disappointed that something like this happened.
I worry that something may have happened and I really cant afford any more emergency bills. Please pray for Smaug. I feel like such an aweful mom

Smaug is doing better today. He is much warmer and is able to move around just fine. He did poop this morning as well! Things are looking better. I was supposed to go out of town for a family event today but then all this happened and I'm just going to spend the day with my baby.

Oh poor Smaug but most of all poor you!! That something like have to happen now. You're not an awfull mother at all! You take really good care of him. Our babies just like to get into all kind of things which includes getting into trouble.

So I spent all day literally snuggling with my baby Smaug. The house needs cleaning. The dishes and laundry are piling up but I couldn't help it. After all we've been though in these past months I couldn't help but to spend a day snuggling and loving on him after so many times that I truly thought that I was going I lose him.

Smaug came to my my work with me again. His weight is still pretty low. He isn't looking as great as the Dr would have hoped but he's not going downhill either. We are going to do another ultrasound tomorrow to see how he's mending up on the inside. It isn't going to be a
quick turnaround but we're just taking everything one step at a time. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

It's great that you are able to bring him with and keep an eye on him, I'm sure he's just as happy about that as you are.
I hope that everything shows up clear in the ultrasound and he keep moving in the right direction.
