How scary! I am glad you had a keen eye and discovered the problem and got him to surgery-

Thank you so much everyone! He's doing awesome and is unphased by it. Surgery took a lot out of him, and when he came home after surgery he was exhausted. But now he's back to normal. Unfortunately his meow is a little funny sounding now raspy sounding because the needle pierced through his trachea. He also will have a little scar on his neck from where they removed the needle but we are so lucky he's okay! I can't even believe he swallowed a needle! I woke up that day and knew something was the matter because he hadnt pestered me all night, and sure enough he had a bulge in his throat and I knew he swallowed something! Never in a million years did I think it was a needle though

It was huge! The weirdest part is, I've never had a sewing needle and I've never sewed! No idea where he found it. He was lucky enough to have swallowed the dull end (eye of the needle) first, so it didn't cut him up completely. Even luckier because it got stuck in his throat rather than his stomach which would have been ten times worse

Thank you for making such a nice post! Definitely learned that Sphynx kittens get into everything and anything. Unbelievable how he found something so little, that I wasn't even aware was in my house.

WOW! That is a HUGE needle! I sew all summer long, and I'm always afraid that Marcus or Cleo will swallow needles or pins. I'm obsessive about keeping all needles and pins out of their reach. Thank God your kitten is all right and just has a funny meow to show for all of this. I hope Tobin will make a full recovery and that you don't have anything like this happen ever again!
