Hi everybody, I just felt I had to post this , my 5 year old male sphynx developed a cough / choking problem, he was still eating but not a lot , went off his dry food , still ate wet but again limited, was passing urine and stools fine at first. Took straight to the vet , was given anti inflammatory medication, was not happy with diagnosis as my boy getting worse , took to a different vet , showed them a video of the coughing episode, they listened to his chest, gave X-ray and informed me he had fluid in both lungs , and HCM which is quite normal in pedigree cats …. , there and then without warning was told literally there was nothing can be done , basically he needed to be put asleep , he went over the rainbow bridge within 15 mins of being there , the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make but his condition had worsened within two weeks
I wanted to share this post as I have seen a few people on here with cats doing the same thing , and have been told nothing wrong, please don’t leave it , get a second opinion, I will post the video of my little boy to show his cough hope it will help anyone else and not get the bad news I did , rip Amun x x
