sphynx going out ??

Heeeey u sphynx lovers ) it's been a long timee since i was up here )) just to tell u Anubis is now 7 months and we have no problems with his ears or skin everything is ok tnx god ))) but now i have some question about taking him outside in the summer not yet because here in slovenia it's still a cold weather but in month or two it will be warmer so i want to know can i take him outside and if there is anything i should know before i take him out ?? thank u for your informations)) a lot of kissesss from me and Anubis from Slovenia

Its already warm here, and we take Clementine outside quite often. She has a harness and generally will ride on my husband, or my shoulder. But we have a leash for her too, but she doesnt walk really well on it yet.

Well it depends on what you are wanting to do. Do you have a deck that your kitt can go out onto? Or are you talking more about a leash and harness? I usually put a little t-shirt on Akali, and then I put her harness and leash on her to take her out, but she would way rather just lay out on a deck. You can also get outdoor enclosures to put your kitty in that are really nice. I would like one of those. Let us know more about what you are wanting to do and then we could answer your questions better.

Make sure they have a good harness they can't get out of if startled.
Be aware of excessive sun exposure so they don't get burned. (no sunscreen)

heey i live in a apartment so my cat is always inside in my room or kitchen so i just wanted to know if i can put him on the leash and take him outside in the summer so he wouldn't be inside all the time if he can go with me out and be in the nature a little bit )

I used a leash & harness only to make sure nothing spooked her and she'd jet away...which thankfully she never did. It was the funniest thing tho! When I put the harness and leash on she would not walk with it on. She'd just kind of flop over and lay there! It was so funny!!! I'd have to scoop her up and put her in my arms and then she was ok with it...set her back down and she'd flop over again!

My breeder actually recommended this to me. She recommended that I get a harness and train him on it inside so that he is used to it. Then she said to just put a little baby sunscreen on his nose and then take him to the park and let him walk around on the harness. Don't leave the little ones out too long or they can get sunburn. Put a little shirt on them if you have one. You won't be walking them for long distances as if they were a dog, but just to let them out a bit to smell some fresh air and feel the grass on their paws

Sunscreen is toxic to cats--even the baby kind. Please don't use it.

There is no sunscreen for cats....It is very toxic (any kind)!

We actually just started training Loki. Finding a good harness wasn't easy. Many we're too bulky and he hated them. After we found the perfect one, we let him wear it around the house for a few days until he was comfortable. Then we attached the leash (which he thought was a new toy). After that we took him out to the park. I let the kids play and I sat on the bench and let him mill about in the grass. He loved it and the kids loved having him out with us. It was about 65 degrees so I brought his baby blanket just in case. Walking on the leash is going to take some work...I just bribe him not walking with snacks, hopefully he'll catch on good luck!!
