Sphynx Nail

Hello all!

I have notice that auras nail is peeling from the sides and is brittle and also bleeding will be taking her to the vet tomorow but any idea what that can be from? Im very worried and scared its something fungal or the person i bought her from cut her nails in

Have you cut the nails lately? When I cut Rankle's claws we always get peeling bits from the side and I don't think anything of it because I find naturally shed bits of claw all over the place. Happens with my other cats too. The bleeding could be a problem if you haven't cut them and caught the quick by accident. If you're concerned then a call or visit to the vet is recommended. They do shed the sheaths of their front nails often and that is why they peel and look brittle before it happens. If it does not look puffy/infected I’d keep an eye on it. These guys heal fast. Yes it can happen if cut too low as well. If no sign of infection, there is nothing a vet can really do. Can you share a pic with us? @Aurathesphynx

Hello!

Update her nails are healthy i was informed that it was normal shedding!
I only cut the tips of the nail I think it was who i got aura from that cut the quick and then nail is weaker than the rest but now healed and is fine !
I cut her nails once a week they grow so fast it’s incredible!!

This was the brittlest nail that bled !
Also shes laying by the fire place haha super relaxed
